Beautiful place, very bad guide
I took a 7-Day tour composed of two parts, one of which was the 3-Days West Fjords tour. Sadly, I was quite disappointed and dissatisfied with the guide (Hakon). Basically, because he acted not like a guide but just as a driver. Throughout the three days with him, he practically didn't provide a single explanation about the places we were visiting, with no information shared regarding the flora or fauna, geology, geography or history of the region. I leave the West Fjords knowing exactly the same as I knew before the tour: absolutely nothing. Hakon limited himself to driving us silently from one place to the other, mentioning only how much time we had in each place, and later on, best case scenario, which would be the next stop (e.g., “a waterfall in 40 minutes”). During the three days with him we passed by amazing landscapes and viewpoints, but he only made a couple of stops outside the itinerary in places I didn't find particularly interesting. He never shared additional information about the itinerary, and didn't join us in any of the stops. He usually just remained vaping next to the minibus, or talking to his daughter, who was in the tour with us. It even happened once that we didn't know where to go because he hadn't provided instructions. Regarding his attitude, I didn't find him very friendly and overall my feeling was that he didn't want to be there. He made no efforts to get to know the group either, as other guides would do for a multi day trip. At some point I perceived a condescending comment which I didn't appreciate either. His daughter was in the group, which wouldn't have been a problem at all except that she took the most valued seat in the bus (single row, front seat) for the three days, instead of leaving it for paying customers. As I often get carsick, on the second day I requested to sit in the “co-pilot” seat (as I have done many times in many tours, including the previous days in the Ring Road part of the tour) and I got some evasive excuses not to have me there, which he eventually had to withdraw as I insisted. Obviously the landscapes were very beautiful and hotels were correct, but having a good guide (as I had for the other 4 days) makes a huge difference in the overall experience. Especially after paying so much money for a guided multi-day tour. Post-tour experience was also very bad. It's been two weeks and two e-mails after my tour finished and I still haven't received a reply from the company to my feedback.

One of a kind experience!
Our guide, David, was fun and really gave us a one of kind experience. He showed us great spots with amazing views and asked all the participants about what they were interested in seeing, making a special effort to make everyone feel like they were having the experience they wanted. This was great on a tour of about 15 or so people. This was really a great size group where the people were excited to see the sites and personable. My husband and I both agreed that we would have even enjoyed an extra day once out in the fjords based on all the places David had to show us.
Response from the operator: Thank you! We’re glad you loved the guide!

10/10 Trip
I did a tour with Nice Travel 10 years ago and it was so great that I wanted to book with them again this time, and was happy to have the same tour guide, David. Our group was 17 people with a wide range of ages and nationalities, and it was great to meet new people and see unique places that we might have missed had we not booked with a tour group. Three days was too short, and I look forward to visiting Iceland and doing more tours with Nice Travel in the future!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much! So happy you enjoyed the experience, again!

Three action-packed days in the Westfjords
Personable guide; amazing sights on the itinerary, plus time for extra highlights. This could have been a four-day tour with a little more time in Isafjordur or Holmavik.
Response from the operator: Thanks for trusting us with your adventure!

Beautiful wildlife and scenery
Beautiful scenery, great food, a great tour guide (David from Nicetravel), and a great group of people. I loved seeing the wildlife here and learning about them. I definitely recommend this trip to everyone who wants to explore and gain new experiences. I have never seen so many waterfalls in my life and they were all gorgeous!
Response from the operator: Thanks for the wonderful feedback!

Why this scores 71
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
3-Day Wild and Wonderful Tour of Westfjords - Small Group Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Reykjavik.
How much does 3-Day Wild and Wonderful Tour of Westfjords - Small Group Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $1039 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Reykjavik usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does 3-Day Wild and Wonderful Tour of Westfjords - Small Group Tour take?
+
Plan for about 72 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Reykjavik is not rushed.
Is 3-Day Wild and Wonderful Tour of Westfjords - Small Group Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 71 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 23 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Reykjavik, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule 3-Day Wild and Wonderful Tour of Westfjords - Small Group Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is 3-Day Wild and Wonderful Tour of Westfjords - Small Group Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 72-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book 3-Day Wild and Wonderful Tour of Westfjords - Small Group Tour?
+
Around 8 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Reykjavik can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Reykjavik and add a light layer if any part of the 72-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does 3-Day Wild and Wonderful Tour of Westfjords - Small Group Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Reykjavik within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Reykjavik?
+
On Outty we rank every Reykjavik experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Reykjavik Food Walk - Local Foodie Adventure in Iceland, Small-Group Golden Circle, Blue Lagoon with Ticket & Kerid Crater, Reykjavík Small group Walking Tour - by CityWalk. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Reykjavik?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Reykjavik?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
