4 day 3 nights in central mongolia

We had an amazing experience. our goal was to stay with nomadic families and this was the special part of the trip. We went through Kharkhorin, to the falls and through the Mini Gobi. each area was special, particularly the desert but the magic really was our first homestay near the falls and our guide and driver. We also had very nice interactions with nomadic families and watched them in their local lives and welcomed by them. a big shoutout to three folks that made this trip special. Zaya: booking person . we had to add a day but keep it budget. Zaya was very patient and listened to our goals and suggested the four day three night trip, 2 in nomadic homes. We did talk to other places, but no one really felt like they understood our needs besides Zaya. Dulguunzul: our English speaking guide. She was one of the highlights of our trip. She was knowledgeable and helpful. We really liked her vibe. She is an international person and we enjoyed talking to her in the long drives. She was always friendly and helpful and always had some interesting information both about the history or the facts about mongolia and local nomadic life. Both my partner and I can't say enough nice things about Dulguunzul, loved her humanity and her warmth. Khuyagaa: our driver. We didn't communicate as he didn't speak English but he was always helpful and slowed down to let us take pictures and really that terrain is rough in the dirt roads but he navigated like a pro driver. Overall an amazing experience we willl be processing and reflecting on for a long time.

An Authentic Mongolia Tour, Down to Every Detail

Our Mongolia tour exceeded every expectation, largely thanks to our guide, Soe. As vegans, we're used to having to plan every meal ourselves when traveling somewhere so remote but Soe took care of every detail, right down to checking with each host in advance so we never had to compromise on food, even out in the countryside. The highlight of the trip was meeting a nomadic family, it felt genuine and unscripted, easily the most authentic travel experience we've had. That kind of access only happens with a guide who has real relationships on the ground. My experience in a song https://youtu.be/NyyRv6Gz_MY?si=rBGKuixD4VsteRMj Our driver, Huyagaa, was excellent too, confident and skilled navigating tough terrain, and just a pleasure to have with us each day. We'd recommend this tour without hesitation to anyone wanting a real, well-organized look at Mongolia.

    The Best Tour

We are just back from a four day Kharkhorin and Orkhon Valley tour which was arranged for us by Meet Mongolia. My family are so lucky to meet Zara and "Meet Mongolia", and we can only say everything was super and impressive... Before the trip, Ms Zaya patiently helped us work out the best plan according to our preference, and gave valuable and trusted suggestions. In face of the fuel shortage, she proactively and frankly discussed with us and provided best solution. She is definitely the best tour consultant we met. Along the trip, our guide Duk and our driver Bagi, were also so professional and helpful. Duk is knowledgeable and gave us so attractive introduction of the history and culture about this great nation. Bagi drove us so safely and smoothly, and nicely took stops for us to feel about the magnificent views and take pictures... Everywhere we went, every accommodations we stayed and every meals along the tour, we could clealy feel the team had carefully selected to take best care of their travellers. Thank you so much Zaya, Duk, Bagi and Meet Mongolia to make our trip such a great experience. We will definitely plan a future trip to Mongolia again, and we will definitely reach Meet Mongolia again. It is a very respected agent and we fully trust them.

    Short but sweet!

Duk (tour guide) and Mulin (driver) are great. Always very positive and helpful, and are very happy to be flexible in certain situations (such as driving out of their way so that we could see different sites/animals that weren’t necessarily on the agenda). They definitely went the extra mile to make sure we had the best time possible! Duk is also great fun - not shy at all to join in the banter! You will definitely see a lot of amazing scenery, wild life, livestock.. as well as get to experience and meet some true nomadic families!

Response from the operator: Dear Wesley, Thank you very much for your wonderful feedback. I am delighted to hear that you enjoyed the trip. Mongolia's culture is truly unique, and I am glad you had the opportunity to experience them and meet local nomadic families along the way. Thank you for your compliment for our staffs. We hope to welcome you back to Mongolia in the future. Warm regards, Meet Mongolia Team

    +

Prices start at $750 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Ulaanbaatar usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does 3 Day Tour to Kharkhorin and Mini Gobi with Camel and Horse Ride take?

    +

Is 3 Day Tour to Kharkhorin and Mini Gobi with Camel and Horse Ride worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 60 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable family friendly in Ulaanbaatar, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule 3 Day Tour to Kharkhorin and Mini Gobi with Camel and Horse Ride?

    +

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is 3 Day Tour to Kharkhorin and Mini Gobi with Camel and Horse Ride suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 72-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book 3 Day Tour to Kharkhorin and Mini Gobi with Camel and Horse Ride?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Ulaanbaatar can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Ulaanbaatar and add a light layer if any part of the 72-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

What are the best things to do in Ulaanbaatar?

    +

On Outty we rank every Ulaanbaatar experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include BEST 5* Chinggis Khaan Airport UBN Ulaanbaatar Transfer Taxi 24/7, A day trip to Terelj National Park and Statue of Chinggis Khan, Genghis Khan Statue+Terelj Park+CamelRide+Eagle. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Ulaanbaatar?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Ulaanbaatar?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
