Unique once in a lifetime experience
Highly recommend this trip. We had 19 on our boat and really enjoyed interacting with all of them. We formed great friendships with the passengers. Peter (pan) our host was amazing and took great care of all of us. The whole staff went out of their way to accommodate special food needs and physical limitations. We got to Kayak two different days, had a catered beach meal and fabulous multi-course meals. This is not to miss.

Don’t miss this trip if you are in Hanoi
Wow, I can’t recommend this more highly, what a fabulous trip and fabulous company. We had a 3 day, 2 night cruise on board Dragon Pearl as part of a group of 19 people. Our organiser was Mike , he coordinated with the staff to organise everything smoothly. Certainly the weather could have been kinder but he could not change that. The company is able to access Bai Tu Long bay as well as Ha Long Bay so there were times we had parts of the area totally to ourselves which was very special and tranquil. We went kayaking twice, visited a cave system the company looks after, had a BBQ on a beach and visited a fishing village of people who live on boats. Apart from that they offer a good wine list, cocktails and fabulous and a plentiful array of fresh food. Not only that the company are very environmentally pro active We absolutely loved it

Not Bai Tu Long Bay
Everything about this cruise was fine except that we never got to or even close to Bai Tu Long Bay. Early the 2nd day, still in Ha Long Bay (I was tracking this on Google Maps), the propeller apparently fell off our boat and we spent most of the day anchored, awaiting repair. The scheduled activities--kayaking, beach time, beach BBQ, etc., --continued unabated, and repairs were effected on the night of the second day. The third day's activities continued as scheduled, all in Ha Long Bay, nothing ever in Bai Tu Long Bay. Few apologies were offered, and, given the worsening economic situation in Vietnam, we did not complain. The sales pitch was all about Bai Tu Long, how uncrowded it is, etc., but we never saw it.
Response from the operator: Dear Mr. Mark S, Thank you for sharing your feedback regarding your recent cruise with Footprint Team. We appreciate your honest review, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and disappointment you experienced during your trip, which led to changes in the itinerary. We deeply regret not being able to take you to Bai Tu Long Bay as planned. We understand your frustration, and we apologize for any lapses in communication and the disruption to your trip. Your feedback is essential to us, and we will use it to improve our services and ensure a more seamless experience for our guests in the future. Thank you for choosing Footprint Team, and we hope to have another opportunity to provide you with a better cruise experience. Best regards, The Footprint Team

What can I say....Brilliant...

What can I say....Brilliant! Amazing! Surreal!
The staff were absolutely amazing. The food was never ending...like one endless degustation fest. The cabins were first class, with spectacular views.
The activities really made this a spectacular 3 days. Fishing villages, kayaking, eating, swimming in the sea or soaking in the small pool, caves and on beach lunch...I simply cannot fault this extraordinary 3 days. Well done!
10 out of 10

Why this scores 48
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
3-Day Luxury Bai Tu Long Bay Cruise on the Dragon Pearl Junk Boat: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Hanoi.
How much does 3-Day Luxury Bai Tu Long Bay Cruise on the Dragon Pearl Junk Boat cost?
+
Prices start at $495 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Hanoi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does 3-Day Luxury Bai Tu Long Bay Cruise on the Dragon Pearl Junk Boat take?
+
Plan for about 72 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Hanoi is not rushed.
Is 3-Day Luxury Bai Tu Long Bay Cruise on the Dragon Pearl Junk Boat worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 48 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.5/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable food & drink in Hanoi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule 3-Day Luxury Bai Tu Long Bay Cruise on the Dragon Pearl Junk Boat?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is 3-Day Luxury Bai Tu Long Bay Cruise on the Dragon Pearl Junk Boat suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 72-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book 3-Day Luxury Bai Tu Long Bay Cruise on the Dragon Pearl Junk Boat?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Hanoi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Hanoi and add a light layer if any part of the 72-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does 3-Day Luxury Bai Tu Long Bay Cruise on the Dragon Pearl Junk Boat start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Hanoi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Hanoi?
+
On Outty we rank every Hanoi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Ninh Binh Day Trip from Hanoi with Tam Coc or Trang An & Mua Cave, Ha Giang Loop Tour 4 Days 3 Nights with Ha Giang Vision Tour, Halong Bay Day Tour With Titop Island, Cave, Kayak & Lunch. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Hanoi?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Hanoi?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
