Amazing Kruger trip if a lifetime with Nhlala

Wow what a fantastic 4 days we spent on this amazing tour! We spent our nights in the beautiful Kruger Gate Hotel which was wonderful, couldn’t fault our stay. We had an evening safari, a full day private safari with Happiness our guide, a sunrise safari with Doug and our amazing tour guide taking us to and from Kruger and the panorama route was the awesome Konghi. Honestly one of the loveliest people we’ve had the privilege of meeting. He was a very safe driver who stopped at the best places and never rushed us. We always felt in safe hands and would 100% recommend him for your trip. He also took us in a full day trip in Johannesburg which was fabulous too. I had a knee injury and he was very caring and worked the itinerary around me which I was very thankful for. Norman was my initial contact with the company and we had the pleasure of meeting him also while in Kruger and he was a lively man also. Thank you Nhalala for making our dreams come true in both Johannesburg and Kruger, we have memories to last a lifetime.

Response from the operator: Thank you for the amazing review. We are glad for making your Kruger Safari " a trip of a lifetime". Surely to carry on doing it to our future guests.

    Unexpected Adventure

It all started with being picked up from my hotel and being transported to my lodge outside of Kruger. I think being driven there was convenient plus getting to see the country as you ride through the countryside and mountains. However, after getting settled in you are sent off on a sunset safari once you mkae your dinner reservations — this is important since I didn't get back until 9 pm. The following morning comes early for sunrise (July), leaving at 5:30 am. However, losing a few hours of sleep is worth it in order to see the majesty of an African sunrise and spending the better part of 11 hours seeing all sorts of animals. Betwern the two days I saw an African wild dog, baboon, cameleon, cape buffalo, crocodile, elephant, giraffe (and a black giraffe), guinea fowl, hippo, honey badger, hyena (with pups!), impala, kudu, leopard, mongoose, owl, strarling, various monkeys, vulture, warthog, water monitor, wildebeest, and other fauna. The last day was unexpected but I can't overstate how beautiful God's Window and Blyde River Canyon is. I feel like these attractions weren't given enough attention in the tour details. Of note, Blyde River Canyon is the third largest canyon in the world and rhe largest GREEN canyon. I felt like my needs werr taken care of but be prepared for long rides by car going to and leaving Kruger, but it was nice to just be a passenger and witness the country. My only critique is while dinner is paid for the first day you arrive, it is not accomodated on the second. However, overall, it was a great experience and very memorable.

Amazing Kruger & Panorama Route Experience — Big Five Sightings and Excellent Guides!

Our Kruger National Park and Panorama Route tour with Viator was outstanding from start to finish. Khongi warmly picked us up from Johannesburg airport and made the entire journey smooth and stress-free. After two unforgettable days in Kruger, we enjoyed the breathtaking Panorama Route before being comfortably dropped back at the airport. Happiness, our guide and driver in Kruger, was absolutely fantastic — knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about wildlife. Thanks to her expertise, we saw the African Big Five and every other animal we hoped to see. The whole experience was seamless, exciting, and truly memorable.

Response from the operator: Thank you Hanlin for such amazing review, very empowering to Nhlalala Travel whole team.

Amazing from start to finish - Kruger did not disappoint

I cannot even begin to describe how truly amazing this experience was. We were collected from our hotel by Normal who drove us out just past Hazyview to the Sabie River Bush Lodge for our 2 night stay. The drive was long (approx 5-6 hrs) but it gave us a chance to pass through some beautiful landscape and also stop at Azul (a service station next to a watering hole). We arrive at the lodge and our accommodation was just what we had hoped for with a location to match, right next to the Kruger park with the river flowing literally steps from our lodge. We started our stay with an evening safari that started at the Kruger Gate and our animal sightings that evening were unbelievable (including an amorous hippo, a chilled out wardhog and a hyena enjoying an evening snack). On return to the lodge, the dinner was basic but sufficient. The following morning we were collected from the lodge by our driver/guide Happiness and once again ventured into Kruger for the start of our all day game drive. The day was long but so worth it and the animal sightings cannot be described fully. Sightings included leopards, lions, baby hyena playing on the side of the road, zebra, elephant, giraffe and many many more. We even encountered cheeky monkeys who stole the remainder of our breakfast at the rest stop. That evening we elected to have dinner at the Kruger Hotel - the buffet food was amazing but it was nice to retreat back to our lodge after dinner and escape the bustle of the larger venue. Our final morning started with another sunrise game drive and a further leopard close up sighting (literally walking right towards our vehicle). After the game drive we started on our return journey back to Johannesburg with Norman stopping at Lisbon falls and then Dulstroom for lunch on the way (a drive not made easy by the intense potholes as you travel over the mountain range). Whilst the panorama route was not great for us ( low cloud closed out Gods Window and the Canyon), the animal viewings for us made the whole trip so worthwhile. This was a dream for many years and this trip exceeded all of our hopes.

Response from the operator: Thank you Donna for taking your time reviewing our services. We are happy for the wonderful moment you had with Norman. All our best wishes.

    Jaw dropping safari tour!

Such a memorable trip of a lifetime! Most of the tours have standard shuttle service which we couldn’t make it because of our flight schedule. Glad that we’ve found Nhalalala Travel who offers great flexibility and customises based on our time schedule! We knew we picked the right one from the friendly and polite greet. We were blessed with the perfect weather, the greatest animals and people we met during the tour. We cannot wait to come back and travel with them again!

Response from the operator: Great for us to have made it for you. Thank you for reviewing our services. We can't wait to host you again.

3 Day Kruger National Park Safari & Panorama Route: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Johannesburg.

How much does 3 Day Kruger National Park Safari & Panorama Route cost?

    +

Prices start at $9700 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Johannesburg usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does 3 Day Kruger National Park Safari & Panorama Route take?

    +

Plan for about 72 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Johannesburg is not rushed.

Is 3 Day Kruger National Park Safari & Panorama Route worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 76 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 73 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Johannesburg, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule 3 Day Kruger National Park Safari & Panorama Route?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is 3 Day Kruger National Park Safari & Panorama Route suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 72-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book 3 Day Kruger National Park Safari & Panorama Route?

    +

Around 26 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Johannesburg can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Johannesburg and add a light layer if any part of the 72-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does 3 Day Kruger National Park Safari & Panorama Route start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Johannesburg within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Johannesburg?

    +

On Outty we rank every Johannesburg experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Full Day Ultimate Pilanesberg National Park Safari from Johannesburg or Pretoria, Soweto and Johannesburg Exclusive Full Day Guided Tour, Half Guided Day Tour of Soweto And Apartheid Museum. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Johannesburg?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Johannesburg?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
