    A deceptive tour. Day 2...

A deceptive tour. Day 2 was spent all day in Kruger Park. The fraudster dropped us off at the hotel at 15:30 and kept wandering around the same area in Skukuza. That's why we couldn't see lions, leopards, or cheetahs.

Response from the operator: Hi Emre, Thank you for taking time to review your experience. We are completely baffled by your review. If you look at the description of the tour package you booked it explicitly mentions the Skukuza area for the game drives. So, for the guide to drive in the Skukuza area is correct. A full day game drive runs from the early morning with drop off at about 15h30 - and this is industry standard for a full day game drive in Kruger National Park. So, this is definitely not fraudulent, nor was your guide a fraudster for dropping you off at 15h30. Seeing lion, leopard and cheetah - all in one game drive - is also not something one can expect to happen. If a person is extremely lucky even then it is a slim chance it could happen. If this was your upfront expectation (to easily see all the animals), then I am sorry that you left disappointed. Sightings of these animals are never guaranteed, no matter how far you drive or how many days you spend in the park. That is what makes animal viewing so special when you actually get to see them. It is regretful that you use the words "deceptive" and "fraudster" for a package which was delivered exactly as it should be - and as we have been doing for many years for thousands of other happy clients. While you might be disappointed with your experience, I kindly ask your consideration to remove the words "deceptive" and "fraudster" from the review as it is unfairly damaging to our company where everything was delivered correctly. Thank you - and wishing you all the best.

3 Day Kruger National Park Big 5 Safari: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Johannesburg.

How much does 3 Day Kruger National Park Big 5 Safari cost?

    +

Prices start at $831 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Johannesburg usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does 3 Day Kruger National Park Big 5 Safari take?

    +

Plan for about 72 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Johannesburg is not rushed.

Is 3 Day Kruger National Park Big 5 Safari worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 49 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3/5 across 2 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable outdoors in Johannesburg, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule 3 Day Kruger National Park Big 5 Safari?

    +

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is 3 Day Kruger National Park Big 5 Safari suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 72-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book 3 Day Kruger National Park Big 5 Safari?

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Johannesburg can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Johannesburg and add a light layer if any part of the 72-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does 3 Day Kruger National Park Big 5 Safari start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Johannesburg within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Johannesburg?

    +

On Outty we rank every Johannesburg experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Soweto and Johannesburg Exclusive Full Day Guided Tour, Full Day Ultimate Pilanesberg National Park Safari from Johannesburg or Pretoria, Half-Day Tour of Soweto Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Johannesburg?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Johannesburg?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
