5 Days of downhill fun.
We did the 5 day tour. What an amazing trip. Make sure that you put this on your itinerary when you visit Quito. Jorge (the guide) Patricio (the driver) were amazing, great fun and had an amazing amount of knowledge between them that the were happy to share. The bikes were great and the riding was superb. Our accommodation and meals were excellent. We also enjoyed the company of Mateo who is new to the company and his customer service and enthusiasm will help the experience for all.

Amazing Experience
We did the 3-day bike ride with Roberto starting Aug 20, 2021. An amazing 3-days. The scenery was fantastic, the ride incredible, and the service was outstanding. Roberto was very accommodating to our wishes and made sure we were all doing fine throughout the trip. Cesar, our driver and cook also took great care of us and prepared excellent meals and made stops along the way so we could take pictures and try some of the local favourites - ice cream and guinea pig. The booking process was easy, and when we had to cancel our originally scheduled trip in 2020 due to COVID, Biking Dutchman gladly let us rebook for 2021 with no change fees. We highly recommend Biking Dutchman for anyone interested in seeing the highlights of the Ecuador Andes by bike.
Response from the operator: Our 3-day trip has become a favorite, as it actually is a Showcase of our Region and the magnificent Andes so: Thank you very much for this awesome review that will certainly help many others make up their mind and come to have a once-in-a-life experience with the BIKING DUTCHMAN. Awesome that you mentioned both Roberto, our amazing guide, and our trustworthy César, one in a kind as driver and human being. We are so proud to have such an amazing team, which is our strenght and what invigorates our Family-owned company! I particularly appreciated you mentioning your experience with rescheduling your trip, postponed due to COVID. I hope that all those clients -that are out there and are still hesitating- do come. We are here, we are still going strong, thanks to you!

Incredible 3 Day Experience!
Such an incredible 3 days! We loved every minute of the trip and hated for it to end. Our guide/driver, Roberto, was awesome and so fun throughout the trip. The biking was challenging but doable and the views were gorgeous! The hardest part was focusing on biking at times instead of looking around. Roberto did a wonderful job accommodating our skill levels and taking photos of us. We had excellent food - I'm still thinking about the delicious lunch from day 1! The accommodations were local and such great experiences. The night in the mountain hut was a favorite. It was a great opportunity to meet others as well. The bikes were in excellent condition and all safety gear was provided. The mix of biking, hiking, and driving was perfect. Overall, I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Ecuador and if we ever visit again, we will definitely do another one of the trips offered.
Response from the operator: It was such a delight to read your review, full of kindness. We are so happy that you had such a great experience. I particularly liked it that you mentioned our guide, Roberto. A young ecuadorian, who loves our country and simultanously, has a good sense of humour. I think that fits to perfection our description of our guides: "Guides must be effective communicators. They must have people skills and be highly sociable." So good it is all true! Ecuador is our passion, its mountains, its people are always in our heart, and love to share that passion with our clients. Our tours are a lot about biking, but in a country that has an incredible natural beauty and goodhearted people. Come back any time!

Perfect Tour for our Family of 5!
Roberto and Patricio made this trip exceptional. We had just returned to Quito from the Galapagos and were concerned about adjusting to the elevations. They ensured we were hydrated, drank coca tea, and accommodated us with one night at a lower elevation at a hotel in Riobamba. Being New Year's Eve, this turned out to be a win-win - we caught our breath, and enjoyed a wonderful time on the street for the festivities. The riding was exceptional - especially our last day likely because were more acclimatized. We started at 4800 meters with hail and snow. The dedicated bike trail was hard sand and gravel, fast but manageable. We ended the ride in a deep canyon, waterfalls dropping all around us on smooth pavement. Roberto led making sure that we all felt safe and Patricio followed in the Land Rover, taking pictures of us along the way. Can't wait to see them! Roberto and Patricio were very attentive, sharing wonderful and informative stories that engaged us all during the road trips. I cannot think of a better way to have spent our limited 3 days in the Andes. Our kids, 14, 16, and 17 cannot stop talking about it. Great value for an exceptional family adventure.
Response from the operator: What a great review; it made me smile and be happy for the whole afternoon (And probably also tomorrow and the day after!) We strive to create good memories and give our guests a great time. Sometimes we cannot change very much the itinerary, but if possible, we try to accommodate your needs. I would like to take the opportunity to thank you for giving us the chance to show you Ecuador in a fun and unique way, taking you to quaint areas of our Andes. Also, I am glad that families feel safe doing an activity that has intrinsic risks. We are particularly proud of that!
