First ikebana class
The session with Miri was so lovely and a beautiful way to slow down amongst the busyness of Tokyo. My sister and I learnt about the basics of Ikebana, particularly in the moribana style. We then chose our ceramics and flowers and applied what we learnt. With the additional time, we also had the chance to freestyle with more interesting vases. Throughout Miri communicated and taught very clearly, was supportive and we loved our class with her.

Wonderful Ikebana Experience
My husband and I attended Miri Ishihara’s Ikebana Class in June. It was the best part of our trip to Japan. The class was amazing and knowledgeable. Each of us were provided materials, the flowers were fresh and beautiful and pleasure to work with. The art of ikebana was beautifully explained and my husband who usually doesn’t work with flowers found it easy to follow and had a lot of fun arranging the flowers. The venue is located on the grounds of a temple. The tatami room makes the whole experience authentic and peaceful. If you are looking for an Ikebana class during your trip to Japan please book Ms. Ishihara’s class for this wonderful authentic and knowledgeable experience!

Fun and informative
My friend who worked as a florist for years signed us up for this. I tend to kill flowers and houseplants, so I wasn't sure how this was going to go, but it was very engaging! I learned a lot, and my flower arrangement didn't turn out too terribly either. This was a really interesting activity which I never would have signed up for on my own, and I'm so glad my friend forced me into it.

Special workshop and a great experience
Mindi was a wonderful teacher, knowledgeable and patient. After explaining about the history and principles of Ikebana,she guided me in creating a traditional flower arrangement and then I experimented with additional arrangement, this time free style. We finished the workshop with tea drinking alongside Japanese sweets. It was a special afternoon.
