What you get

    About this experience

This 2 hour Private Morning Sailing tour, the Captain will take you to Port Royal Sound (North side of the island - generally best conditions for sailing). During the MORNING, this is generally a calm - light wind relaxing sail, a great way to start off the morning or a great day of vacation. The morning tours are usually full with wildlife such as dolphins, birds, sting ray and Manatee which are some of the great wildlife that are often very prevalent in the morning. You will also have some great scenic views of Hilton head, Pickney island, Paris island, Lady's island and Bay island to mention a few. This sail trip is typically more on the calm side of things and would recommend for individuals that don't know how they would handle the more adventurous and exciting winds of the afternoon sail trips. This is also a great opportunity to anchor and swim off the boat if your group would like. Please call us directly to discuss other sail trip options such as Half Day trips / Sunset

    Sailing with the family

Our family had a great time sailing with Anchors Away Sailing Charters this morning. We brought our two sons to learn a little about sailing and Captain Paul was up for the challenge. He was wonderful with the kids, incredibly patient, and shared so many interesting facts throughout the trip. We were lucky enough to see so many dolphins too. If you’re looking for a family-friendly sailing adventure with a knowledgeable and personable captain, I can’t recommend Anchors Away Sailing Charters enough. Thank you, Captain Paul, for such a fantastic experience—we’ll definitely be back for an afternoon charter when the boys get a little bigger.

This Made Our Vacation: 20 stars our of 5!

Highest recommendation! Our family took a four hour afternoon sail with Capt. Paul and deck hand Andy. It was phenomenal. Very easy to work with; boat was new and amazing. This is a small company who seems interested only in making your sailing trip memorable and I if you are considering any sort of excursion, I see no reason to look anywhere else.

Response from the operator: WOW, Thank you for that amazing review. We are absolutely thrilled that you enjoyed your half-day sail with us, and we would love an opportunity to sail again soon with you all! Thank you again!

    Great Sail Boat Trip!

We had a very nice experience on a beautiful one year old sail boat despite there being little wind. The two gentleman sailing the boat were very informative and enlightened us about the area as well as sharks. We would highly recommend. Located in a nice quiet Mariana. Easy to park.

Response from the operator: Sandra, thank you for the great review. We are very glad you enjoyed your sail with us. We look forward to sailing again soon with you next time your in town and hopefully have stronger winds:)

2 - Hour Private Hilton Head Morning Dolphin Watching / Sail: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Hilton Head Island.

How much does 2 - Hour Private Hilton Head Morning Dolphin Watching / Sail cost?

    +

Prices start at $465 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Hilton Head Island usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does 2 - Hour Private Hilton Head Morning Dolphin Watching / Sail take?

    +

Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Hilton Head Island is not rushed.

Is 2 - Hour Private Hilton Head Morning Dolphin Watching / Sail worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 35 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Hilton Head Island, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule 2 - Hour Private Hilton Head Morning Dolphin Watching / Sail?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is 2 - Hour Private Hilton Head Morning Dolphin Watching / Sail suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book 2 - Hour Private Hilton Head Morning Dolphin Watching / Sail?

    +

Around 12 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Hilton Head Island can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Hilton Head Island and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does 2 - Hour Private Hilton Head Morning Dolphin Watching / Sail start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Hilton Head Island within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Hilton Head Island?

    +

Hilton Head sells dolphin and sunset cruises out of Broad Creek, kayak and boat trips through Lowcountry salt marsh, bike rentals for the island trail network and shrimping demonstrations. On Outty we rank every Hilton Head Island experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include 2-Hour Hilton Head Guided Kayak Nature Tour, Hilton Head Island Dolphin Boat Cruise, Daufuskie Island Guided History Tour from Hilton Head. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Hilton Head Island?

    +

March to May and September to November, warm without peak summer crowds. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Hilton Head Island?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
