Loved the experience!

Tim and Debra were absolutely AMAZING- we had a group of 6 teenagers and they all had a blast! I Highly recommend this adventure for anyone looking for a great way to enjoy the waves!

    Highly recommended

Instructor Ms. Sabina was very friendly and although it was our first time to surf, we really enjoyed to surf since the instructor assisted us to take off and stand on the board.

    Fun first try.

Beginner’s should go early when the waves are smallest. We had a great time. Aiden was terrific. Good instructor, ask for Aiden! He worked hard to get us up and was easy to be with.

    Just right

Did private lesson for 10 year old son who surfed a handful of times before. He loved the lesson; his instructor Dale was great with him. Dropped a lot of knowledge. However, for fellow East Coasters, the experience is very SoCal - the address we were told to go to was not a store or surf shop- it was a general meeting place outside a restaurant. The instructor had wetsuits in his car along with a board. Again, all was good and fine - son loved it! It was just a different buying experience. I would do it again.

I would highly recommend this to...

I would highly recommend this to anyone in the area that wants to take a lesson and knows nothing about surfing. The instructor was outstanding with beginners. I learned about how to get up on the board, information about waves and the dangers of them. Although I was unable to surf on my first day, I was very happy with my experience.

2 Hour Private Group Surf Lessons in Hermosa Beach: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Los Angeles.

How much does 2 Hour Private Group Surf Lessons in Hermosa Beach cost?

    +

Prices start at $170 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Los Angeles usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does 2 Hour Private Group Surf Lessons in Hermosa Beach take?

    +

Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Los Angeles is not rushed.

Is 2 Hour Private Group Surf Lessons in Hermosa Beach worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 48 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Los Angeles, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule 2 Hour Private Group Surf Lessons in Hermosa Beach?

    +

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is 2 Hour Private Group Surf Lessons in Hermosa Beach suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book 2 Hour Private Group Surf Lessons in Hermosa Beach?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Los Angeles can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Los Angeles and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does 2 Hour Private Group Surf Lessons in Hermosa Beach start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Los Angeles within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Los Angeles?

    +

Los Angeles rewards travellers who cluster their bookings by geography rather than by theme. Studio tours and Hollywood walks sit inland, the Malibu and Santa Monica coast runs west, and Griffith Observatory and the canyon hikes work best at dawn or dusk. We weight transport clarity in the ranking here: whether pickup is included changes an LA day more than the tour itself. On Outty we rank every Los Angeles experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Hollywood Sign 2.5-Hour Tour with Comedians and Their Dogs, Los Angeles Hollywood Sign Hike: Front, Behind, and Expert Guide, Los Angeles Original 90-Minute Walking Tour to The Hollywood Sign. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Los Angeles?

    +

March to May and September to November, for clear air and open canyon roads. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Los Angeles?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
