Gorilla trek and wildlife safari made great family memories!
Emile was helpful and responsive as we planned this once in a lifetime adventure. We chose Lion based on that and what previous travelers shared about their experience with this tour operator. Joel, our guide, was a great fit for the three young adults in our group. We appreciated his positive energy and his knowledge of Rwanda’s history, culture, and wildlife, particularly on safari in Akagera National Park.

Fantastic trip from first to last second!
We were in very good and competent hands from the very moment we first contacted Emile/Lion Safaris. All questions were answered very fast, all wishes met and a fantastic plan laid out for us. On arrival, we were met by our wonderful driver, Joel, who took extremely good care of us every single hour until we were back in the airport and on our way home again. The tour was remarkable, all the places we stayed in amazing and we had a trip we will never forget. We can highly recommend Lion Safaris to everyone!

Brilliant expérience, but...
We did the tour in the Akagera Park first with our guide Joël. A few days later, we went to the Nyungwe forest with our guide Alyssa. Both our guides were perfect: kind, helpful, very professional. Unfortunately, un like their boss, Émile. We couldn t but notice that once we had paid for the 1st safari, the Akagera one, that he simply ignored our messages asking for information about the organization of the 2nd one, which was not satisfactory. Safaris are an extremely expensive experience, and the least the company can do is answer their customers requests. The highly professional services of both elyssa and Joel indeed added value to our trip, we most sincerely thank them for that.
Response from the operator: Dear client, kindly, normally our nature and speciality to all our clients is to respond fast, client satisfaction and is our main focus, but if you did not consider it as fast enough, we shall analyse that then improve a little bit. Thank you so much once again for using us for your tour!

An unforgettable experience. With so many wow moments
We thoroughly enjoyed our experience as a family of four. We had the jeep to ourselves and a friendly experienced driver named Dany. It's a lot of driving to find the animals in their natural habitat so be prepared to be patient. The most memorable experience was an elephant crossing the road right in front of us. But there were lots of wow moments. The night safari was fun but we didn't see many animals, however there was a big storm brewing and it has already started raining so this likely had an impact. During the day we saw, hippos, crocs, white rhino, baboon, giraffes, elephant, lion, warthog, waterback deer, and zebras ( others too) The hippos are plentiful and fun to watch

20 Stars - Lion safaris
Lion Safari’s, Let me start by stating that my wife and I have traveled to many places including Africa, this being our second trip to the Continent. And yes, we have been on safari before. Yet nothing we have experienced prepared us for the excellent service of Lion Safari. They took care of everything, permits, pick up drop off, we had nothing to think about except seeing animals. They did all of this with NO hidden fees, everything was up front and exactly as they presented it to us. Our guide, Emile has vast knowledge of the animals at Akagera park. He also provided information on local culture, agriculture, bee keeping etc. On previous safari(in another country) the guide was also quite knowledgeable, however he let us know how much education he had and gave us such n elevated explanation of everything that it was somewhat intimating. Emile answered all of our questions in an unassuming manner, really felt like I was talking to my best friend. He would stop often to give us a briefing as to what the plan was, where we were going and why. Emile created a fun comfortable environment, we truly enjoyed his company. Emile understood when and where the animals would move, furthermore he made alliances with the other tour operators so that if we wanted to see a particular animal he would network with them, to find out where the animals where that we wanted to see. Yes we saw the “Big Five”. Later we booked with Lion Safaris to see the golden monkeys, needless to say it was just as amazing. We are only giving five stars because they will not let us have any more. Lion Safaris is a 20 Star outfit!

Why this scores 58
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
2 days Rwanda wildlife safari at Akagera national park: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kigali.
How much does 2 days Rwanda wildlife safari at Akagera national park cost?
+
Prices start at $1,260 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kigali usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does 2 days Rwanda wildlife safari at Akagera national park take?
+
Plan for about 48 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kigali is not rushed.
Is 2 days Rwanda wildlife safari at Akagera national park worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 58 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable outdoors in Kigali, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule 2 days Rwanda wildlife safari at Akagera national park?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is 2 days Rwanda wildlife safari at Akagera national park suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 48-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book 2 days Rwanda wildlife safari at Akagera national park?
+
Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kigali can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kigali and add a light layer if any part of the 48-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does 2 days Rwanda wildlife safari at Akagera national park start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kigali within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Kigali?
+
On Outty we rank every Kigali experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include One-day Akagera National Park Game Drive with a Choice 4x4, One Day Akagera Wildlife Safari, Kigali City Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Kigali?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Kigali?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
