Amazing!!
A’HA Scuba Diving should be everyone’s first choice when looking for a dive shop in Cancún—especially for Open Water certification. From the very start, Marin and Carolina went above and beyond to make sure my experience was safe, smooth, and unforgettable. On our first dive day, the port was closed due to wind, but instead of canceling or cutting corners, they immediately adapted and took us to dive the cenotes, which turned out to be an incredible experience. The flexibility, professionalism, and effort they put into accommodating the situation really set them apart. On the second day, we were able to dive the Cancún reef, and it was absolutely beautiful—clear water, vibrant marine life, and a perfect environment for open water dives. Everything was well organized, calm, and never rushed. Marin is an exceptional instructor—extremely knowledgeable, patient, and confident without ever being intimidating. As this was my first open water dives, feeling comfortable and safe was critical, and Marin made sure of that every step of the way. He explains things clearly, watches closely underwater, and genuinely cares about his divers’ success and confidence. You can tell this is a shop that truly loves what they do. The equipment was in great shape, the briefings were thorough, and the overall vibe was relaxed but highly professional. If you’re considering getting certified, doing cenote dives, or exploring the Cancún reef, do not hesitate—this is the place to go. I couldn’t have asked for a better introduction to open water diving, and I would dive with Marin and Carolina again in a heartbeat. Highly, highly recommended. 🌊🤿

Amazing first dive and certification trip with Ah’ Ha Scuba Diving in Cancun
My daughter (15) and I signed up with Ah Ha for our first diving experience, to get our SDI Open Water certification while on vacation in Cancun. We didn’t know exactly what to expect, but Timoteo and Carolina were absolutely amazing to work with! They supported us for two months before the trip as we worked on the online course and exam, and then as we arrived in Cancun with answering all of our questions. Their location is really easy to get to via public busses or Ubers, and after finishing the skills testing in the pool you just walk a few short steps to board the boat. During the course it was clear how much the ocean, reefs and diving mean to both of them, we loved practicing our Spanish with them and they both spoke great English also. They were very patient with us and made sure we felt safe and confident at every step of the process. I had a small personal issue during the course and they went above and beyond to help me work around it and stay on pace to complete the requirements and obtain my certification. During our live dives with Timoteo we saw hundreds of fish, nurse sharks, crabs, lobsters, rays, sea turtles and eels, so much life under the ocean around the beautiful reefs. The equipment was all clean, sized correctly for us and plenty of spares in case any issues came up. In the end, we could not have asked for more, Timoteo and Carolina were just THE BEST and we can’t wait to return and dive with them again soon.
Response from the operator: Thank you very much Darren! We are happy you enjoyed doing your Open Water course with us! Hope we can see you again next time you visit Cancun and we can do more dives together!

Best Life Skills Ever!!
Carolina and Marin are the perfect partners for this job! Caroline initially helped me with all the paperwork, online eLearning, and rescheduling due to the weather. Marin was very thorough in every step for your preparation for the open water dives (4). The assembly of the gear, details of what to do in the water, and made you practice everything in the pool first. It's everything in the eLearning and more, especially provided more info on survival skills. I wasn't nervous at all when it comes to open water ocean dive in the 1st day afternoon, and that is all because of Marin. He made me assemble the gears myself as part of the course, and I made a rookie mistake already. This shows everything needs practice. The open water dives are amazing, besides the coral reefs, he would practice communication under water with you, and test your skills again in the open water. Marin is made sure you are always next to him and check on your regularly. When water floods your mask, or regulator, or removing regulator from your mouth...think what Marin has taught you in the pool, and repeat it...the only difference is you are 30-55 feet in the ocean. The open water dives is a full boat, therefore don't worry...you are in good hands, and other divers will share their experiences with you including their best dives, locations, different adventures. BTW, signing up today for tomorrow won't work. eLearning takes time to complete (16 chapters and testing). It took me 3 days in between work to complete it. I wanted to do this 20 years ago, and only got to complete now. The best part of attaining the SDI Open Water Diver Certificate is you have the opportunity to dive around the world, recreational dives at the moment. I want to complete the advance course if possible, and I would come back to Marin and Caroline should the time and place permits!
Response from the operator: Thank you Jack for your awesome comment! Hope we can see you soon and we can dive together again!

Why this scores 65
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
2 Days Class: SDI Open Water Diver Certification in Cancun: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cancun.
How much does 2 Days Class: SDI Open Water Diver Certification in Cancun cost?
+
Prices start at $600 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cancun usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does 2 Days Class: SDI Open Water Diver Certification in Cancun take?
+
Plan for about 48 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cancun is not rushed.
Is 2 Days Class: SDI Open Water Diver Certification in Cancun worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 9 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cancun, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule 2 Days Class: SDI Open Water Diver Certification in Cancun?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is 2 Days Class: SDI Open Water Diver Certification in Cancun suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 48-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book 2 Days Class: SDI Open Water Diver Certification in Cancun?
+
Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cancun can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cancun and add a light layer if any part of the 48-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does 2 Days Class: SDI Open Water Diver Certification in Cancun start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cancun within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Cancun?
+
On Outty we rank every Cancun experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Early Access to Chichen Itza All Inclusive with Valladolid and Cenote Swim, Whale Shark Tour from Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Tulum and Riviera Maya, Small-Group 3 Hidden Cenotes Adventure with Tequila Tasting. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cancun?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cancun?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
