    Truly customized experience!

We just finished our Private South Coast and Diamond Beach Tour by North Escape with Alex. And OMG what a trip it was!
Our tour guide Alex is a true professional - expert in driving, storyteller and great photographer! He was entertaining us with stories along the way, customizing the tour for our needs and adjusting it because of the weather. From the start to the finish - everything was well taken care of. The communication before the trip was excellent, they answered a million questions we had and made sure we’re comfortable with the plan and timing during the tour. On the first day we adjusted stops along the way from Reykjavík, the rain and fog were not the best conditions for the sightseeing. We soaked wet during a hike to Skógafoss waterfall, even though we were in rain jackets. Made a short stop at Grotagja cave and at Reynisfjara black sand beach with basalt columns, it was quite impressive. The weather is changing very fast in Iceland, and midday we were rewarded with sunshine and no rain, so our raincoats could dry a bit:) Side note: make sure you have good water resistant rain coats and rain pants are a great addition! On first day we added Katla Ice Cave tour from KatlaTrack, highly recommended! It fitted well with our tour with Alex. Second day was sunny and warm, we started it at Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon with Ice Lagoon Amphibian Tour, continued to Diamond beach and then made 4 more stops on our way back to Keflavik. We visited gorgeous canyon Fjaðrárgljúfur, magical Kvernufoss with walk behind the fall, and grand and unforgettable Seljalandsfoss. Cherry on top - on our way to Keflavik Alex showed us the ‘new’ lava field formed just 2 years ago. We highly recommend Alex and North Escape company. We’re happy that we chose this private tour for our family of four. With group tours they usually rush you through the sights and you don’t have enough time to enjoy it to the fullest. Of course there’s also an option to rent a car and drive around by yourself, but it’s a lot of driving, and I mean A LOT. We chose to trust the driving to someone, who is not only familiar with the route, but literally knows every bump on the road:) We were not rushed, yet at the same time we were able to see everything we wanted. North Escape company truly customized the trip for us and helped us make an unforgettable memories about beautiful Iceland!

Amazing 2 day south Iceland tour!

Alex was amazing! We saw so much of the south coast and he knew all the places to go, including places we had never heard of. We got to see puffins up close (they are so cute). Visited so many waterfalls and got to see a glacier! Alex was also a great photographer and would take pictures of us at each stop. My husband and I would have never seen as much trying to do it on our own, I would highly recommend the 2 day tour. Advice: as soon as you book, contact the tour company and ask where you should book your night stay. I waited too long so there was not many options available.

Customer private tour is the way to go

This was the first time my wife and I visited Iceland and I’m so glad we booked a private tour. The whole experience was fantastic. It wasn’t a pre-determined tour with strangers on a bus shuffling around with time limits at the sites. This was a tour tailored to what my wife and I were interested in seeing with helpful input from our fun tour guide Alex. Private pickup from our hotel in a clean and comfy vehicle. Our tour guide took care of everything so we could just focus on enjoying how beautiful Iceland is. Alex planned the itinerary to avoid heavy crowds so we could enjoy site after site without having to wait in lines. We saw so many amazing things: epic waterfalls, puffins up in the cliffs, black sand beaches, moss covered lava fields, glaciers and canyons with stunning views. I’m glad we chose a multi-day tour to see so much and not feel rushed. Our tour guide was great at giving advice on what to wear as Iceland’s weather is ever changing and kept us entertained in between sites. Worth every penny.

A wonderful tour of the south coast of Iceland!

We really enjoyed this personal guided tour of various spots in Iceland. We started the day off at 7 AM where our guide, Alex, up at the hotel. You are very appreciative of his kind manner and stamina in terms of driving us all those hours to see some of the most memorable locations in Iceland. He took us to some amazing waterfalls, the “diamond Beach“ with the large pieces of crystal clear ice on the black lava sand. Visited the town of Vik and had some stops along the way where we sampled some Icelandic food. Alex is attentive to our needs during the trip and though the journey was long with some intervals lasting a few hours of driving, I think it was worth as it saved us the effort and energy of staying awake on the road for such long trips. You also gave us some space to explore a little on our own while keeping us on schedule. We enjoy the conversation while driving so it was a boring time. I highly recommend this experience and if possible, ask for Alex!

Personalized private touring at its best!

Alex was a fabulous guide for us for our 2 day private excursion for the two of us (my husband and me). He was prompt with pickups and in tune with our energy levels for visiting as many sights as possible given the temperature and hours of sunlight each day. He was personable, knowledgeable of the history, geography and topography. We will enthusiastically recommend Alex's business to our friends!

2-Day Tour in Iceland: Private South Coast with Diamond Beach: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Reykjavik.

How much does 2-Day Tour in Iceland: Private South Coast with Diamond Beach cost?

    +

Prices start at $2050 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Reykjavik usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does 2-Day Tour in Iceland: Private South Coast with Diamond Beach take?

    +

Plan for about 48 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Reykjavik is not rushed.

Is 2-Day Tour in Iceland: Private South Coast with Diamond Beach worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 67 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 9 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Reykjavik, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule 2-Day Tour in Iceland: Private South Coast with Diamond Beach?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is 2-Day Tour in Iceland: Private South Coast with Diamond Beach suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 48-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book 2-Day Tour in Iceland: Private South Coast with Diamond Beach?

    +

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Reykjavik can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Reykjavik and add a light layer if any part of the 48-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does 2-Day Tour in Iceland: Private South Coast with Diamond Beach start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Reykjavik within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Reykjavik?

    +

On Outty we rank every Reykjavik experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Reykjavik Food Walk - Local Foodie Adventure in Iceland, Small-Group Golden Circle, Blue Lagoon with Ticket & Kerid Crater, Reykjavík Small group Walking Tour - by CityWalk. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Reykjavik?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Reykjavik?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
