Two Days, Three Wonders, One Unforgettable Jordan Adventure

Our two-day journey from Amman to Petra, Wadi Rum, and the Dead Sea was truly one of the most incredible experiences of our entire trip to Jordan. Every destination was breathtaking, but what made the experience truly exceptional was having Fayez as our driver. From the moment we left Amman, Fayez was friendly, professional, punctual, and incredibly welcoming. He made the journey feel effortless and comfortable, always checking that we were happy and had everything we needed. His knowledge of Jordan, along with his genuine kindness and hospitality, made us feel like we were travelling with a friend rather than simply hiring a driver. Petra was absolutely spectacular. Seeing the Treasury appear between the canyon walls is something we will never forget. It was even more amazing to experience such an incredible place knowing that everything for the day was taken care of. Then came Wadi Rum, and this was truly magical. The vast red desert, dramatic mountains, endless open skies, and incredible silence made us feel as though we had stepped onto another planet. Spending the night in Wadi Rum was the perfect way to experience it — watching the sunset, enjoying the peaceful desert atmosphere, and waking up surrounded by one of Jordan’s most extraordinary landscapes. The Dead Sea was the perfect final chapter of our adventure. The scenery was incredible, and after two unforgettable days of exploring Jordan, it was wonderful to simply take in the beauty and atmosphere before returning to Amman. What impressed us most was how smoothly Fayez handled everything. The distances between these places are long, but with him, the journey never felt stressful. He was patient, attentive, respectful, and always made sure we were comfortable. He also gave us great recommendations and local insights that made the trip feel much more personal. This wasn’t simply a two-day tour — it was a collection of moments we will remember for years. From the ancient stones of Petra, to the otherworldly landscapes of Wadi Rum, to the unforgettable views of the Dead Sea, Jordan completely exceeded our expectations. And Fayez was a huge part of why we enjoyed it so much. His professionalism, warmth, and genuine care made us feel safe, relaxed, and welcome throughout the entire journey. If you’re planning a trip around Jordan, we highly recommend asking for Fayez. He is the kind of driver who doesn’t just take you to the sights — he helps make the entire journey part of the adventure. An unforgettable country, an unforgettable journey, and an unforgettable driver. Absolutely 5 stars!

Disappointing Private Transfer Experience

I booked and paid for a private two-day transfer in Jordan covering Petra, Wadi Rum and the Dead Sea. After I had already paid, a representative from the office contacted me and explained that since this was a private trip, I could manage my own time and choose the timing myself. He gave me some recommendations regarding the schedule, but made it clear that the final timing was up to me. My understanding was that the driver would be available for approximately eight hours per day and that I could decide how to use that time within my itinerary. On the first day, the driver picked me up at 8:00 AM and we arrived in Petra at around 11:20 AM. He then told me that I had only three hours in Petra. I did not understand why, because according to my calculations, I could spend at least four hours there before continuing to Wadi Rum. The driver was clearly not happy about it, but eventually agreed. There was another situation on the first day that immediately made me uncomfortable. We stopped at a tourist shop where various products were being offered to visitors. From the very beginning, I had the feeling that, as a tourist, I was being taken to places where I was expected to spend extra money. I told the driver directly that I travel a lot, I understand how these tourist arrangements work, and I did not want to be taken to tourist shops or other places that were not part of my plans. I asked him simply to do the job I had paid for and be my driver. He was also clearly unhappy with this. On the second day, he picked me up at 10:00 AM and we drove towards the Dead Sea. We agreed that he would take me to a five-star hotel that he recommended, where I could access the Dead Sea. When we arrived at the hotel security gate, the driver suddenly asked me to give him cash for the entrance. I explained that I did not have cash and that I would go to the hotel reception and pay by card directly there. He insisted that “the rules are different here” and that I had to pay cash directly to the security guard. I refused because security is not the hotel reception or cashier. I wanted to go inside, speak to the reception myself, confirm the entrance fee and pay officially by card. The driver became irritated, telling me that he lived there, knew the rules better than I did and that I should listen to him. When I refused to follow his suggestion and insisted on speaking directly to the hotel reception, he became visibly angry. Given how strongly he insisted on a cash payment directly to security and how angry he became when I refused, I was left with the suspicion that there may have been some informal arrangement between the driver and the security staff. I cannot confirm this as a fact, but this was genuinely the impression the situation gave me. I could not understand why simply going to reception and paying the hotel directly was such a problem. In the end, I refused to enter that hotel under those conditions and asked the driver to take me to another hotel that I had originally chosen myself. When we arrived there, the driver told me that I had only two hours at the Dead Sea, and that if I was not back within two hours, he would leave. He even told me that if I wanted to stay longer, I could call the company and ask them to send another driver. Again, I expressed my dissatisfaction. He had picked me up at 10:00 AM, and based on an approximately eight-hour working day, according to my calculations there was enough time for me to spend around four hours at the Dead Sea. I could not understand why, during a private service where I had been told that I could manage my own time, the driver was once again deciding how much time I was allowed to spend at my destination. Throughout these two days, I constantly felt as though the driver was setting his own rules and deciding my schedule, even though the company representative had specifically explained to me after payment that this was a private trip and that I could manage my own time. I do want to thank the driver for one thing. After this stressful situation, I accidentally left my phone in his car, and he later returned it to me. I genuinely appreciate that. However, overall, I cannot recommend this private transfer. It was expensive and did not provide the flexibility and comfort I expected. Instead of enjoying the trip, I repeatedly had to argue about how much time I could spend at the places I had travelled to see. Most importantly, from the very first day I had an uncomfortable feeling that, as a tourist, I was being encouraged to spend additional money — starting with the tourist shop and later with the request to pay cash at the hotel security gate. I travel frequently and I am familiar with how tourist-oriented stops and commissions can work, which is exactly why I asked the driver from the beginning not to take me to such places and simply to provide the transportation service I had paid for. For the amount I paid, I believe it would have been cheaper, easier and much less stressful to travel by taxi.

One of the best tours

Our 2-day tour to Petra, Wadi Rum, and the Dead Sea was an unforgettable experience from start to finish! Everything was perfectly organized, making the trip smooth, comfortable, and stress-free. Petra was absolutely breathtaking—walking through the Siq and seeing the Treasury for the first time is something I'll never forget. Wadi Rum was equally incredible, with its stunning desert landscapes, exciting jeep tour, and unforgettable sunset. Floating in the Dead Sea was the perfect way to relax and end the adventure. A special thanks to our guide and driver, who were professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and always made sure everyone was comfortable. Their recommendations and hospitality made the experience even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Jordan. In just two days, you get to experience three of the country's most iconic destinations. It was truly worth every moment and exceeded all my expectations. Five stars!

2 Day Petra Wadi Rum and Dead Sea Private Guided Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Amman.

How much does 2 Day Petra Wadi Rum and Dead Sea Private Guided Tour cost?

+

Prices start at $100 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Amman usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does 2 Day Petra Wadi Rum and Dead Sea Private Guided Tour take?

+

Plan for about 48 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Amman is not rushed.

Is 2 Day Petra Wadi Rum and Dead Sea Private Guided Tour worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 69 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 11 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable food & drink in Amman, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule 2 Day Petra Wadi Rum and Dead Sea Private Guided Tour?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 144 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is 2 Day Petra Wadi Rum and Dead Sea Private Guided Tour suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 48-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book 2 Day Petra Wadi Rum and Dead Sea Private Guided Tour?

+

Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Amman can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Amman and add a light layer if any part of the 48-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does 2 Day Petra Wadi Rum and Dead Sea Private Guided Tour start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Amman within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Amman?

+

On Outty we rank every Amman experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include From Amman: Petra and Wadi rum Private/Group Full day Tour, From Amman :Private or Group Full day tour to Petra, Amman Petra Full-Day Trip. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Amman?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Amman?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
