Set in a spectacular Andean landscape, it is the most famous archaeological site on the continent. This awe inspiring ancient Inca city was never discovered by the Spanish conquistadors and remained hidden among the mountains until the early 20th century, when it was rediscovered and became one of Peru’s most iconic travel destinations. Machu Picchu 2 days

The organisation was very good although the communication is poor. Our guide for the trip was Alfredo and he was amazing, full of passion and knowledge. We loved the whole experience. 1 note of disappointment was the overnight accommodation David (Australia)

Response from the operator: Hello Mr. David. Thank you very much for your suggestions. We hope to improve even more for future travelers.

Machu Picchu tour

Our 2-day tour to Machu Picchu was absolutely incredible—far beyond what we expected. Getting Circuit 2 tickets was smooth and hassle-free, and the tour organizer handled everything with amazing efficiency. Our guide at Machu Picchu was not only knowledgeable and engaging, but also helped capture some fantastic photos for us. We highly recommend this tour group!

Amazing experience!

I started my tour early in the morning by bus in Cusco. We visited 3 archeological sites then I hopped the train to Machu Pichu. Diego met me at the train and got me settled into the hotel and met me the next morning to go to Machu Pichu. Diego was such a great tour guide! Knowledgeable and funny and had lots of great information. I will definitely book another tour when I come back to Peru, especially if Diego is the guide!

Response from the operator: We are proud to have guides like Diego, who share their passion and knowledge with our travelers. We are glad that your experience was so positive. We look forward to planning your next trip to Peru!

Perfect Tour

Everything was good and well organised. The guide was very kind, patient and was considerate. The accommodation in Aguas Calientes town was very nice and comfortable. While booking the tour Richard the guy from their office gave us his Whatsapp number and was frequently in touch with us enquiring if everything was upto expectatiions.

Response from the operator: How wonderful to read such positive comments! We are very happy to know that your experience was so satisfactory. We really appreciate your kind words about our guide, our accommodation in Aguas Calientes and, of course, about Richard. We work hard to ensure that every detail is taken care of and that our clients feel accompanied at all times.

2 Day Machu Picchu Train Journey & Guided Visit: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cusco.

How much does 2 Day Machu Picchu Train Journey & Guided Visit cost?

+

Prices start at $397 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cusco usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does 2 Day Machu Picchu Train Journey & Guided Visit take?

+

Plan for about 48 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cusco is not rushed.

Is 2 Day Machu Picchu Train Journey & Guided Visit worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 60 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 18 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable outdoors in Cusco, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule 2 Day Machu Picchu Train Journey & Guided Visit?

+

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is 2 Day Machu Picchu Train Journey & Guided Visit suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 1. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 48-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book 2 Day Machu Picchu Train Journey & Guided Visit?

+

Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cusco can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cusco and add a light layer if any part of the 48-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does 2 Day Machu Picchu Train Journey & Guided Visit start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cusco within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Cusco?

+

On Outty we rank every Cusco experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Sacred Valley Full Day Tour, Peruvian Cooking Class Cocktails and Market Tour in Cusco, Excursion to Rainbow Mountain Full Day Optional Red Valley. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Cusco?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Cusco?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
