Worst tour experience across 5 countries
Wish I had looked at reviews before hand but across three countries I had only been overwhelmingly happy with all services booked. This guy was SERIOUSLY UNFUN! Booked a ‘2 day 1 night’ Hwange safari for $500, expecting a dedicated overnight package with two game drives, meals, and park fees included (standard for this type of package unless otherwise stated, per every other safari I’ve done in the region). What I actually got: pickup was 40 minutes late (sitting and waiting in the cold at 5 am), and the drivers then got lost en route, so we didn’t arrive at the park until about 1.5 hours behind schedule — in a vehicle with no working air conditioning. The drivers themselves weren’t even aware I was booked for an overnight stay. No water was offered all day except at lunch, and the first meal/drinks came over 8 hours after pickup. That evening, the drivers told me the hotel was in charge of evening activities for me — except the hotel had no idea I was even coming. There were no evening activities after the day trippers left and no dinner. I was told I’d be joining an an organized tour that already existed but in reality no dedicated arrangement existed; I was simply folded into other groups’ day trips. After the Day 2 morning drive, no ride home had been organized at the scheduled time; the operator’s fix was to offer me the afternoon drive with a day-trippers group, but then said they were ‘too far away’ — leaving me waiting at a hotel for 4 hours with no plan, and losing an entire extra day of my trip. On top of all this, I paid $100 out of pocket for park entry fees, dinner, that should have been covered and a night drive with the hotel. When I raised these issues, the operator’s response was to insist I’d ‘agreed to the itinerary’ — an itinerary that was never actually followed in the first place. If you’re looking for even decent service, I would steer clear of Marvel and his scammy company.
Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your experience. We acknowledge that there were shortcomings in the execution of your safari, and we are always willing to accept constructive criticism where we could have done better. However, we believe this review leaves out important facts and gives a misleading impression of what was agreed between us. Before payment was made, an itinerary was sent to you and you agreed to that itinerary. The services were subsequently arranged and delivered based on that agreed program. Your expectations appear to have been based largely on what you describe as the “standard” for safaris you have experienced elsewhere. However, what may be standard in Kenya is not automatically the standard operating arrangement in Zimbabwe, Zambia or Botswana. Safari packages differ by destination, operator, accommodation and itinerary, which is precisely why the agreed itinerary and inclusions are important. You have also stated that you booked a night drive. Our records and the information available to us indicate that the lodge did not have a night-drive booking for you on that particular night. This is an important distinction, because it cannot reasonably be presented as a service that was confirmed by us but simply refused. There was also a telephone conversation regarding your concerns. During that conversation, you provided the details to another person who was assisting with the matter. We were subsequently informed that you had indicated that you would post negative reviews across multiple platforms if a full refund was not provided. We consider that an inappropriate way to resolve a service dispute. A review should reflect the actual services, agreements and circumstances, rather than being used as leverage to obtain a refund. We do not claim that every aspect of the trip was perfect. We have acknowledged that there were shortcomings, and we take legitimate service concerns seriously. However, that does not mean that a full refund is automatically justified, particularly where substantial services were already provided and arrangements and costs were incurred on your behalf. We are therefore disappointed that the review describes our company as “scammy” while omitting the agreed itinerary, the services that were actually provided, the arrangements made on your behalf and the circumstances surrounding the refund request. You were seeking a refund for services that had already been rendered, and we were unable to agree to a full refund. We believe this is the underlying reason for the review, rather than an accurate reflection of the entire transaction. We are happy to acknowledge our shortcomings, but we also expect the account of what happened to be fair, factual and complete. We stand by the services that were delivered and by the arrangements that were agreed before payment.

Tours are much better than massages
The experience was just breath taking. The feeling is negotiable, however park fees are standard & cheap. I wish I had stayed longer but other commitments hindered the experience. The longer the stay the cheaper. The environment is serene & during that time of the year wildlife is easier to spot. Crowd size is not an issue as the tour has a transporters to suite any number of clients. The staff is very professional & go all out to assist visitors. I will forever use this company for all my excursions in Hwange and Victoria Falls. They are simply the best. Keep it up Serious Fun Tours & Travel

Organisational issues
I booked a 2-day trip to Hwange with Victoria Falls Serious Fun Travel, and unfortunately the experience fell short of expectations. The trip was not well organized from the start — the team in the park didn’t seem to know what we had booked, and we payed extra for a walking safari that was not provided. We spent a lot of time contacting Marvel during the trip to clarify, often having to show our booking confirmation to prove the arrangements. We also had long waiting times between drives while things were being sorted out, and although the hotel was good, meals that should have been included were not. Despite these issues, I want to highlight the positive points: the local guide in Hwange was very helpful and professional; and after we returned, Marvel met with us personally, refunded everything according to the original plan, and offered us a rhino walk as compensation. The rhino walk itself was great, and the Zambian guide, Chris, was exceptionally knowledgeable and made the experience truly enjoyable. Overall, our trip was much more stressful than it should have been due to organizational problems. If you choose to book with this company, I strongly recommend confirming all details in advance and reminding them of the itinerary to avoid misunderstandings.
Response from the operator: Dear Maria Thank you very much for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We truly appreciate your honesty, and we are genuinely sorry that parts of your Hwange experience fell short of the standard we aim to deliver. It is clear that the organisational issues you encountered ,including miscommunication with the team in the park, delays, and the missed walking safari , caused unnecessary stress during your trip. This is not the seamless and enjoyable experience we want our guests to have, and we sincerely apologise for the inconvenience this caused. We are grateful that, despite these challenges, you recognised the professionalism of our Hwange guide and the positive efforts made after your return. We are committed to taking responsibility when things go wrong, and we are glad that meeting with you in person, providing the correct refunds, and offering the rhino walk helped to restore some confidence in our service. We’re also delighted to hear that you enjoyed the rhino walk with Chris — he truly is exceptional at what he does. Your feedback has been taken seriously, and we are actively improving our coordination processes and communication with our partners to ensure that the issues you faced do not happen again. Thank you once again for sharing your experience. We value your perspective and hope that, should you choose to travel with us again, we will have the opportunity to provide you with the smooth, memorable safari experience you deserve. Kind regards,

Great service all along
The communication via WhatsApp was excellent, both before departure and on the trip. I did the 2-day Hwange safari with them as well as the helicopter flight over the Falls for which they offered me a competitive price. I was a solo traveller and on two of the three Hwange game drives (night drive and early morning drive) I was the only passenger. The guide was great. We saw a lot of animals on the morning drive, but no cats. They were also completely reliable: when I paid cash for the helicopter flight they didn't have change but they came to my Victoria Falls hotel in the evening to give me the change and dropped me off at a nice restaurant!
Response from the operator: Hi Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience! We’re thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the 2-day Hwange safari and the helicopter flight over the Falls. It’s wonderful to know that our guide made your solo trip memorable and that you got to see so much wildlife, even if the cats stayed elusive this time! We always aim to make our guests’ experiences smooth and enjoyable, so we’re glad the extra effort with the helicopter payment worked out and that you felt well taken care of. Your kind words about our communication and reliability mean a lot to us. We hope to welcome you back for more adventures in Victoria Falls and beyond!

Is 2-Day Hwange National Park Safari from Victoria Falls worth it?
+

That score blends traveler sentiment (3.8/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Victoria Falls, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

How far in advance should I book 2-Day Hwange National Park Safari from Victoria Falls?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Victoria Falls can sell out a month out. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Victoria Falls?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Victoria Falls?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
