Viator does not take care...
Viator does not take care of their customers all through. They leave them to commute to railway stations and board the train by themselves and at the arriving end to find taxi and go to the place of stay. We saw every other passenger/foreigner on the train with a guide at both ends. They could have clearly mentioned this at the time of booking. This is a country where people don't speak English and getting directions is not easy.👎👎👎 Our guide in Sapa, Ms May speaks good English and was awesome. Took care of everyone in the group and ensured they are comfortable during the treks. Viator to note - pls DO NOT schedule more than one trek a day as it gets very difficult as we are not used to that kind of a routine in our lives.

BEST TOUR EVAAAAA! Put your trust in these guys, you will not be disappointed!!!
My boyfriend and I went on the sleeper to Sapa, planning on doing the 2days 1night home stay, when my boyfriend became poorly, so we changed plans and we had to check into a hotel in Sapa. Viet from Old Quarter Travel was INCREDIBLE. They were keeping in touch with us since we booked (in February! We went in June!) and then throughout, even when we couldn’t continue and then, on the second day, decided we were well in fact enough to trek, Viet sorted it all out and we had a faaaaantastic trek - on my boyf’s birthday as well, it was very special. Viet answered all the questions we had via WhatsApp and just, 10/10 customer service; warm with a sense of humour. We would recommend thoroughly. (Tip: just get welly boots / gum boots for the trek, you don’t need any waking boots and mine fell apart 30 mins into the trek, from getting plundered in the mud!)
Response from the operator: Dear Catherine, Thank you so much for your amazing 5-star review! I am thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the tour and had a memorable experience with me. It was our pleasure to have you on board, and I am so glad everything met your expectations. Happy late birthday to Lucio! Your kind feedback is truly appreciated by me. I always strive to create unique and enjoyable travel experiences, and it means the world to know I succeeded with you. I hope to welcome you on another adventure in the near future! Warm regards, Viet Old Quarter Travel

Exceptional trekking experience in Sapa!
The tour was well organised and very enjoyable, the home stay was nice and the all the people were very friendly. The tour was booked very last minute but despite this there was constant communication and instruction so everything went smoothly. I would definitely recommend this tour to see Sapa and the villages in Muang Hoa valley.
Response from the operator: Thank you for such kind words, Abraham! I am truly happy that you enjoyed your trip so much. I’ve worked hard to offer my customers the best services possible, and comments like this make it all worthwhile. If you’re ever visit Vietnam I’d love to serve you and your family again! Amazing family trek amongst the rice fields and small villages.
Very nice and organized tour. Easy and fast communication with our operator ensured a smooth and relaxed family adventure. Sleeper train was equipped with water and snacks. Though quite noisy and toilets ran out of toilet paper very quickly. A good idea is to bring ear plugs and your own roll of toilet paper. The guided trek of the villages around Sapa were excellent. Our guide Chang was nice and knowledgeable about the area and tribes. The home stay was less authentic than expected. It’s not really living in a family home, expect a small bungalow village in one of the villages. Though after the long trek and night of less good sleep on the train we didn’t mind the extra level of comfort provided by your own private bungalow and private bathroom. We all fell asleep very quickly.
Response from the operator: Thank you for such kind words, Sofia! I am truly happy that you enjoyed your trip so much. I’ve worked hard to offer my customers the best services possible, and comments like this make it all worthwhile. If you’re ever visit Vietnam I’d love to serve you and your family again! The best tour advisor and guide
Everything was perfect. Our guide catered to our every need and was super responsive and friendly from start to end. We had the best Sapa trekking guide too. She was very knowledgeable, kind, accommodating and super hilarious. This was certainly one of our best experiences with a tour operator!
Response from the operator: Dear Valued Customer, Thank you very much for your review. I really appreciate you taking the time off to let me know how you feel about my service. I look forward to serving you again in the near future. Thank you again. Regards, Viet

Why this scores 59
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
2-Day Amazing Sapa Trek With Sleeper Train From Hanoi - Overnight At Homestay: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Hanoi.
How much does 2-Day Amazing Sapa Trek With Sleeper Train From Hanoi - Overnight At Homestay cost?
+
Prices start at $162 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Hanoi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does 2-Day Amazing Sapa Trek With Sleeper Train From Hanoi - Overnight At Homestay take?
+
Plan for about 72 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Hanoi is not rushed.
Is 2-Day Amazing Sapa Trek With Sleeper Train From Hanoi - Overnight At Homestay worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 59 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable nightlife in Hanoi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule 2-Day Amazing Sapa Trek With Sleeper Train From Hanoi - Overnight At Homestay?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is 2-Day Amazing Sapa Trek With Sleeper Train From Hanoi - Overnight At Homestay suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 72-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book 2-Day Amazing Sapa Trek With Sleeper Train From Hanoi - Overnight At Homestay?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Hanoi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Hanoi and add a light layer if any part of the 72-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does 2-Day Amazing Sapa Trek With Sleeper Train From Hanoi - Overnight At Homestay start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Hanoi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Hanoi?
+
On Outty we rank every Hanoi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Ninh Binh Day Trip from Hanoi with Tam Coc or Trang An & Mua Cave, Ha Giang Loop Tour 4 Days 3 Nights with Ha Giang Vision Tour, Halong Bay Day Tour With Titop Island, Cave, Kayak & Lunch. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Hanoi?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Hanoi?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
