    Best water tours in Hawaii

The Body Glove team gave us the best experience of our trip. Number one their boat is very comfortable and fun. It was fast enough to give us an exciting ride, but comfortable enough that we didn't feel like we were going to fall off or had trouble holding on. The team was super friendly and knowledgeable about the area as well as the dolphins and whales that we saw. Not only did we get to see a lot of both of them, we actually found a spot where we heard a whale singing through the hull of the boat. So many good memories. They have about 15 people on board, but there is plenty of room for everyone. The fee was not cheap, but I feel it was very appropriate for what we got. Even if the service hadn't been great, the fee would have been appropriate for what we received. I paid more for other tours and had way less fun. After we got back to the bay, the captain did some fun stunts with the boat which was a nice added perk. The whole team was awesome and they know their stuff. I wish I had booked all of my other tours with Body Glove and next time around, I will! Definitely recommend this company 1000%!

Response from the operator: Aloha Scottymcraig, Wow — mahalo for such an incredible and detailed review. We are truly honored to have been a highlight of your trip. It’s wonderful to hear that you felt both the excitement and the comfort of the Super-Raft. We work hard to create that balance so guests can enjoy the thrill of the ride while feeling safe and relaxed throughout the experience. Hearing the whales singing through the hull is one of those magical moments that stays with you forever. We’re so glad you were able to experience that, along with seeing dolphins and whales up close. Those are the kinds of memories we love helping create. We also truly appreciate your comments about the value of the tour. We aim to deliver an experience that feels worth every penny through our crew, vessel, and time on the water. Mahalo again for your strong recommendation and your kind words about our team. We would love to welcome you back on your next visit and get you out on even more adventures.

If you even get slightly seasick, this is not the cruise for you. Bad Customer service.

Body Glove Hawaii assured our company that there would be smooth sailing even though we had asked prior due to high winds. It was so choppy that many of our colleagues vomited from the back of the boat. When we asked Body Glove Hawaii to make it right, they responded that the conditions were smooth and safe... as if we hadn't just experienced it. We had to cut the trip short and return due to the waves; no refund of any kind was offered.

Amazing day and highlight of trip.

I’m honestly still buzzing from our trip with Body Glove. It was easily the highlight of our time on the water. We didn't just see a whale or two; we saw so many different humpbacks, and one actually breached right near the boat—it was incredible to see that kind of power so close up. To top it off, we even spotted a whale shark, which I know is a rare treat, and had spinner dolphins jumping and playing around us all morning. The whole vibe on the boat was spot on. The music was fantastic and kept the energy up the whole time. Captain Erica was awesome and really knew how to find the action, while the naturalist and the rest of the crew were so accommodating and actually knew their stuff, answering all our questions without missing a beat. Bottom line: If you’re looking for a tour that genuinely delivers, this is it. We had so many opportunities to see the wildlife and felt taken care of the whole way. Thanks for an unforgettable day!

Response from the operator: Aloha, Mahalo nui loa for your fantastic five-star review and for joining us on our 2.5-Hour Whale Watching Super-Raft on January 5, 2026! We’re absolutely thrilled to hear that your day with Body Glove was the highlight of your trip—that’s the highest compliment we could receive. Seeing multiple humpback whales, especially a close-up breach, is an unforgettable experience, and spotting a whale shark truly is a rare and special gift from the ocean. With spinner dolphins joining the adventure as well, it sounds like the marine life really put on an incredible show. We’re so glad you enjoyed the onboard vibe—from the music and energy to the care and knowledge of our crew. Captain Erika has a true talent for reading the ocean, and our naturalists and crew love sharing their passion while making sure every guest feels informed and well taken care of. Thank you for your strong recommendation and for choosing Body Glove. We’re honored to have been part of such amazing memories and hope to welcome you back aboard for another unforgettable Kona coast adventure.

    Good value and highly entertaining

We really enjoyed our experience. The fact that it was a smaller sized boat made it feel more personalized. McKenna, the naturalist on board, knew a lot of information and answered all of our questions. The snacks were perfect. We enjoyed drinks like ginger beer, iced coffee, water or coconut water or root beer. Most importantly, e saw several whales. One or two gave us a great show with many beaches and tail slapping.

Response from the operator: Aloha Christie , Mahalo nui loa for your five-star review and for joining us on our 2.5-Hour Whale Watching Super-Raft on January 2, 2026! We’re so glad to hear you found the experience both entertaining and a great value. The smaller boat really does create a more personal and engaging adventure, and it’s wonderful to know McKenna made the experience even better with her knowledge and thoughtful answers to your questions. We’ll be sure to share your kind words with her. We’re also happy you enjoyed the onboard snacks and drink selection—nothing like sipping a ginger beer or iced coffee while taking in the Kona coast . And of course, seeing multiple whales with breaches and tail slaps is the ultimate highlight—what an incredible show by the humpbacks ! Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We hope to welcome you back aboard again soon for another unforgettable wildlife encounter.

How much does 2.5-Hour Whale Watching On A 41' Super-Raft cost?

    +

Prices start at $135 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Big Island of Hawaii usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does 2.5-Hour Whale Watching On A 41' Super-Raft take?

    +

Plan for about 2.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Big Island of Hawaii is not rushed.

Is 2.5-Hour Whale Watching On A 41' Super-Raft worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 56 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.2/5 across 17 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Big Island of Hawaii, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

    Can I cancel or reschedule 2.5-Hour Whale Watching On A 41' Super-Raft?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is 2.5-Hour Whale Watching On A 41' Super-Raft suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book 2.5-Hour Whale Watching On A 41' Super-Raft?

    +

Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Big Island of Hawaii can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Big Island of Hawaii and add a light layer if any part of the 2.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

What are the best things to do in Big Island of Hawaii?

    +

The Big Island is volcano country: Hawaii Volcanoes National Park tours, Mauna Kea summit stargazing, night manta ray snorkels off Kona, Waipio Valley lookouts and coffee farm visits. Summit tours have real altitude rules, so we weight safety detail. On Outty we rank every Big Island of Hawaii experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include KONA Manta Ray Night Snorkel - FREE re-ride if no Sightings, Big Island: Captain Cook Snorkel On A Power Catamaran With Lunch, Big Island in a Day: Volcanoes Waterfalls Sightseeing and History. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Big Island of Hawaii?

    +

April to October, though the island runs year round. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Big Island of Hawaii?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
