Take a scenic 20 mile off-road expedition through areas of the Navajo Nation that is off-limits to the public for a private memorable experience free from the huge crowds and wait time. Enjoy Navajo history and explanations of the ancient geological landscape on the 30 minutes drive to the east rim. Experience the breathtaking scenery at The Grand Horseshoe Bend, a view twice the size of the famous Horseshoe Bend by Page/Lake Powell. See wildlife such as Eagles, Coyotes, and Stallions. Be amazed at the landscapes of the Echo and Vermillion Cliffs, North and South Rim, San Francisco Peaks, Kaibab Plateau , Shinamu Altar, Tatahatso Point, Emanance Break/Fault and many more geologic formations along the wonderful 20 mile drive. Request to make stops along the drive for pictures and stories of the local navajo history. Do not hesitate to book this tour, it’s incredible
Our Grand Canyon adventure was truly outstanding. Our guide Ronnie was friendly, knowledgeable, and incredibly accommodating, making the entire experience smooth and enjoyable. The tour starting about 45 minutes south of Page was perfect for us since we were heading to Sedona for a couple nights afterward. Traveling as a single parent with my two kids (13 and 11), I really appreciated how engaging and educational the tour was—we all loved learning about Navajo culture, geology, and spotting wildlife like lizards and prairie dogs. The views of the canyon were absolutely breathtaking, and the lack of crowds made it even more special. We literally drove right to the edge of the canyon, no strenuous hiking. My kids loved the drive there as it kind of felt like off-roading but you’re in a nice all wheel drive van, it handled surprisingly well going up the steep hills and navigating through the terrain. Easily one of the best tours we’ve ever taken.

Magical Experience
Booking with East Grand Canyon Navajo Tours is a personal and unforgettable way to experience a secluded part of the Grand Canyon on the Navajo Nation. Ronnie graciously accommodated our group of four on very short notice, and we're so glad he did. This was much more than a sightseeing tour. Ronnie shared his deep knowledge of the area's geography and geology, along with the history and culture of the Diné people, making every stop along the journey meaningful. Reaching the breathtaking overlook on the east rim of the Grand Canyon was the highlight of our day. Ronnie had a picnic table and chairs set up at the canyon's edge so we could enjoy lunch while taking in a spectacular view that few visitors ever get to experience. We had the entire overlook to ourselves—no crowds, no noise, no distractions—just the incredible beauty of the canyon. To top it all off, a raven soared overhead before making a dramatic dive into the canyon, adding to an already magical moment. The drive is definitely bumpy, but every mile is worth it. If you're looking for an authentic, peaceful, and one-of-a-kind Grand Canyon experience, this is it.

Do it you won’t regret it!
Ronnie is so amazing his knowledge is vast. There are a couple of things that you should know before going. 1st you can only be on Navajo nation with a native Navajo guide and there are not a lot of them. 2nd it’s a group tour so very personal and you get a lot of knowledge of the Navajo people. 3rd you get to see the biggest horseshoe bend in the grand canyon.

One of a kind scenic tour with a an amazing guide!
Ronnie’s tour is one of the best I’ve ever been on. Our family came away with awe inspiring memories of unique stories and lasting impressions of beautiful landscapes, and knowledge to share with others. Ronnie provides insightful perspective and deep knowledge of the area and the Dine people. Through his unique story telling Ronnie wove together his knowledge of the land, and history of the Dine people, while navigating unmapped reservation roadways in some of the most remote and vast places in the area. At our primary spot we we able to take beautiful pictures and were even visited by some warblers who visited us from nearby rock walls. The views and peaceful serenity of the landscapes we experienced are unforgettable. Ronnie took time to educate us on a span of topics: geography and geology, landscapes, the Dine, area landmarks, tribal sovereignty and government, and more. While we could have easily spent the entire day seeing various sites yet unexplored by our family, the fact we didn’t get to see two of the primary spots available on Ronnie’s itineraries, is yet another reason for us to return and have another amazing experience with him.
