Visit Taj , no selfstick allowed...really?

My dream of know Taj Mahal came true. The trip is long and exhausting, but we already knew it. When we entered the Taj Mahal complex our guide told us that it wasnt allowed to enter with selfsticks, (We have professional cameras and lenses) so it was impossible to take us our own photos, IT WAS A LIE. The guide has deals with the local photographers, they offered us One Picture for One Dollar, we agreed and told the photographer: take us a photo with the Taj behind y, he did it but then he began to take more and more photos , and then he said: do t worry, every photo is One Dollar, when he finished we own him 50 dollars, we also saw that 25 went to our guide hand. We have nice pictures, thats true, but the guide should NOT lie, and let the tourist introduce their camera equipment.

Taj Mahal awesome. Rest of the trip poor.

Visiting the Taj Mahal. Breathtaking! A decent amount of time spent there. Guide was very good. On the negative side our driver went to the wrong terminal in Delhi to pick us up . Strange as they’d booked the flights and should know where we were. We waited 50 minutes in the heat to be picked up. Driver spoke little or no English which made the situation very stressful. Bought my wife flowers as an apology but pointless as we wouldn’t have been able to take back on the flight to Mumbai. Fantastic time at the Taj Mahal. Went for lunch which took too long. Then the part we really didn’t like. We were taken to 2 craft centres, a needlework place and a ceramic tile place and were given a real hard sell to buy things. We both felt really uneasy about this. With our delay in being picked up, the hard sell at these 2 places we never had time to go to Agra Fort which was a big part of the day so felt deflated. In summary the Taj Mahal was awesome but the rest of the day and only getting a drive by of Agra Fort was poor to say the least. Stress going back to airport in Delhi as we thought we might miss our flight. Driver stopped off for fuel when he had all day to do this and didn’t go the fastest route as my phone had traffic updates and his clearly didn’t. We were told the trip was 18 hours from Mumbai. It was nearly 23 hours door to door.

    Best day ever!!!

10/10 would recommend a personal tour with Rocky and KK! They were the most amazing tour guide and driver duo in Agra. They always kept our best interests in mind and had a good system/agenda for us (2 women) as tour participants. I was visiting Mumbai for a work trip and only had 1 free day to be able to get to and from Agra - this is a LONG day but totally worth it. There is "down time" when you are traveling on the airplane and in the car so you can take a nap! KK picked us up from the airport and brought us to this really awesome road stop for tea, we continued on our journey and picked up Rocky (the tour guide). KK and Rocky made us feel welcomed and safe the entire time. From a logistical perspective what I liked most, was KK stayed with our belongings in the car and Rocky navigated us through tons of really awesome places in Agra, when we were done with one thing KK was right there to drive us to the next stop. From a tour perspective, Rocky was able to show us many things at the Taj Mahal which we would not have known to look for if we went without him. He was super knowledgeable about the history. The lunch spot they brought us to was great!!! I would highly recommend this to anyone (specifically with Rocky and KK) - this is a very reputable, safe tour and well worth the investment especially if you are tight on time!

Taj Mahal - a cautionary tale

Be prepared for a very long day. 24hr round trip from Mumbai - which we were aware of and prepared for. Taj Mahal was spectacular, but we were rushed around at a fast pace in the midday heat for 1 HOUR. When I asked if we were going to Agra Fort I was informed only if we have time. This was supposed to be part of the tour. Be prepared to be hassled by photographers for you to purchase a package. Then we were taken to a carpet factory and informed we were going to a marble and gold place after that. After visiting the carpet factory, we then knew this was a way of pressurising you into purchasing a carpet. Of course, we didn't buy anything but then knew the next 2 place were going to be the same. We didn't appreciate the hard sell and the waste of our time. We decided to cut our tour short and demanded they take us back to the airport after the carpet factory and lunch. We don't appreciate the hard sell and it is very off putting and ruined our day. Viator states a buffet lunch was included, but we did not receive this and paid for our own lunch. We basically paid $1550 AUS for an hour in the Taj Mahal.

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Mumbai.

How much does 1-Day Trip to Taj Mahal and Agra from Mumbai with Both side Commercial Flights cost?

    +

Prices start at $492 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Mumbai usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does 1-Day Trip to Taj Mahal and Agra from Mumbai with Both side Commercial Flights take?

    +

Plan for about 16 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Mumbai is not rushed.

Is 1-Day Trip to Taj Mahal and Agra from Mumbai with Both side Commercial Flights worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 54 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.3/5 across 16 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Mumbai, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule 1-Day Trip to Taj Mahal and Agra from Mumbai with Both side Commercial Flights?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is 1-Day Trip to Taj Mahal and Agra from Mumbai with Both side Commercial Flights suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 16-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book 1-Day Trip to Taj Mahal and Agra from Mumbai with Both side Commercial Flights?

    +

Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Mumbai can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Mumbai and add a light layer if any part of the 16-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does 1-Day Trip to Taj Mahal and Agra from Mumbai with Both side Commercial Flights start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Mumbai within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Mumbai?

    +

On Outty we rank every Mumbai experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Elephanta Caves & Island Guided Private Tour, Dharavi Slum Tour, Mumbai: Dharavi Slum & Dhobi Ghat Laundry Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Mumbai?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Mumbai?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
