⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ n Unforgettable Day in Kyoto and Nara!
We had an absolutely fantastic experience on our one-day private car tour of Kyoto and Nara! The private car itself was immaculate spotlessly clean, incredibly comfortable, and pristine from the inside out. Our driver was exceptional; he was faultlessly polite, highly professional, and impeccably dressed, which added a wonderful touch of luxury to our day. His fantastic attitude and smooth driving made traveling between the sights completely seamless. Another major highlight was the lunch. We were treated to a meal of excellent quality genuine, authentic local food rather than the usual tourist stuff. It was absolutely delicious and a real highlight of the day. The heart of our trip, however, was our wonderful tour guide Meri. Meri was simply excellent from start to finish. She looked after us so well throughout the entire day, ensuring every detail was taken care of and that we were comfortable at every step. Her knowledge, warmth, and attentiveness made a huge difference, and we truly enjoyed her company. Between the pristine car, the wonderful driver, the superb food, and an extraordinary guide, this was a flawless, first-class experience. If you want to see Kyoto and Nara the right way, we cannot recommend this tour highly enough! Thank you, Meri and team, for making our trip so special!

Fun filled day!
Beautifull day in Kyoto and Nara. Our guide as very knowledgeable and friendly, and we had an excellent driver through the narrow streets. Lots too see, and having a personal tour was perfect with our family of young and old. Hope to return again someday!

Best Day Ever
Everything was taken care of, meals - entrance fees and car transportation. Meli was the nicest tour guide that we could have asked for. Having lived in so many different places in Japan she is so knowledgeable about so many different aspects. Truly an incredible day that we will never forget. Pure class from start to finish.

10/10 recommend
This was such a nice tour! 1000% worth every penny. Meri was an amazing guide. She gave us the perfect amount of information without being overbearing. She even shared about her own life/family so it’s always a plus to hear from a local. She and a private driver came to get us right at our hotel. Which was amazing. We left by 9am and were back at the hotel at 5pm (eight hours). The driver was great to have instead of taking the train to Nara and all the sights. He’d also drop us off at an entrance and then pick us up wherever we exited, which saved a lot of walking. Nara itself was a must see. The huge Buddha makes it worth it on its own, along with several 1,000+ year old structures. And by the way, lunch was included and delicious. Definitely great for couples or moreso families of 4-5 to take away the stress of transport while getting to see so many things.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful and detailed review! We’re delighted to hear you had such a smooth and enjoyable day in Nara with Meri and our driver. It’s great to know the itinerary, guidance, and included lunch all helped make the experience comfortable and memorable for you. We truly appreciate your kind words and recommendation, and we’re so happy you enjoyed both the cultural highlights and the ease of transportation throughout the tour!

Why this scores 63
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
1-Day Kyoto and Nara Highlights Day Trip with a Private Car: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kyoto.
How much does 1-Day Kyoto and Nara Highlights Day Trip with a Private Car cost?
+
Prices start at $30000 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kyoto usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does 1-Day Kyoto and Nara Highlights Day Trip with a Private Car take?
+
Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kyoto is not rushed.
Is 1-Day Kyoto and Nara Highlights Day Trip with a Private Car worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 63 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 13 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Kyoto, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule 1-Day Kyoto and Nara Highlights Day Trip with a Private Car?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is 1-Day Kyoto and Nara Highlights Day Trip with a Private Car suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 10-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book 1-Day Kyoto and Nara Highlights Day Trip with a Private Car?
+
Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kyoto can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kyoto and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does 1-Day Kyoto and Nara Highlights Day Trip with a Private Car start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kyoto within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Kyoto?
+
On Outty we rank every Kyoto experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Kyoto : Gion Make Your Own Chopsticks with Engraving Option, Award-Winning Authentic Ramen Making Experience in Kyoto, Hidden Kyoto E-Biking tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Kyoto?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Kyoto?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
