    First part of trip...

First part of trip including transportation, guide, boat ride and food was very enjoyable The main issue was getting back to Hanoi At first it seemed no one knew who was taking us back to Hanoi After I guide realized we needed a ride it was arranged but after sitting in the hot sun for more than 60min we got in a air conditioned bus. However we then kept sitting there and the bus driver would not communicate what was going on Over the next 1 and 1/2 hours some travelers got on and then bus moved to several other locations to pick more people. Again driver not telling us what was going on . Finally got on road to hanoi and arrived a hour later at a rest stop. We got off to use dacility and bus drive off with no explanation. After 50 min bus returned and took us to Hanoi. He dropped us off in old quarter in the rain several blocks from our hotel and we had to find our way back. Evidently the driver didnt speak english and there was no effort to explain to us what was going on Very unfortunate that the return trip kind of ruined the experience

I would NOT ever rebook this trip.

So the boat and the bay are lovely! Our tour guide Smiley was wonderful. I enjoyed that they had a nice waiting area with couches and drinks for purchase and areas to shop in before you get on the boat. But, go with another company... However, I was not well prepared for this trip. They send you a message the day before that has a blank "what should I bring" section, and made us throw out any plastic water bottles. Then, there are NO beverages available on the boat for free. You have to re-buy the water they made you throw out. I've never seen a meal served without anything to drink before. We did not get to see the fishing village as promised, which was the entire reason I chose this particular trip. Then, after the trip, they put me on a taxi bus where I waited for 50 minutes before it left. When he did leave, the last two passengers were getting in the van and he slammed on the gas, throwing the man getting in into my lap. Then, the driver had SUCH bad road rage I legitimately thought we were going to die. At one point he swerved around a large bud, then slammed on his brakes in front of the bus. Bus plate: 14B-042.94 Driver: 0397267788 Phương Do not get in the van with this man!! Also, no seatbelts. At one point the women sitting next to me got bounced out of her seat and screamed. This was not Vietnam driving dangerous, this was road rage and a pissed off driver. We stopped for fuel, he yelled something at us in Vietnamese and left. No idea what that was about, so we just sat and waited. I travel a LOT, and this was the first time I have been scared for my life. I do not recommend

Beautiful trip to Bai Tu Long on a fancy ship with few other passengers

Entire beautiful, luxurious ship for only 4 passengers at our trip. Very tasty 6 course menu, specifically adapted to be vegetarian just for us. Huang, the tourguide, was knowledgeable, friendly and open to all our questions! Bai Tu Long Bay was beautiful, with very few other tourists! Overall, just great, exceeding our expectations by far!

A great day on the water

Great trip! What I thought was going to be a crowded and touristy day turned out to be nothing like that. We had it all to ourselves and we experienced the serenity that location deserved. Everyone involved is professional and friendly. They just want to see you have a good day...... And the food was great!

A Great Day in Bai Tu Long

We enjoyed this tour visiting Bai Tu Long was awesome there is a walk up 100 steps so be aware of that. No swimming allowed but the kayaking was great. Our guide was lovely and took good care of us. The caves were impressive so definitely worth the climb up the steps. Insect repellent is a must. The lunch was nice a lot of seafood. Our return to Hanoi was not as expected as our bus left without us but to his credit our guide sorted us another ride with no hassle at all - Big ups to Quan - Tony.

1-Day Bai Tu Long Bay Cruise: Pristine, Fun & Away fr the Crowds: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Hanoi.

How much does 1-Day Bai Tu Long Bay Cruise: Pristine, Fun & Away fr the Crowds cost?

    +

Prices start at $90 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Hanoi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does 1-Day Bai Tu Long Bay Cruise: Pristine, Fun & Away fr the Crowds take?

    +

Plan for about 13 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Hanoi is not rushed.

Is 1-Day Bai Tu Long Bay Cruise: Pristine, Fun & Away fr the Crowds worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 53 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.8/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Hanoi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule 1-Day Bai Tu Long Bay Cruise: Pristine, Fun & Away fr the Crowds?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is 1-Day Bai Tu Long Bay Cruise: Pristine, Fun & Away fr the Crowds suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 13-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book 1-Day Bai Tu Long Bay Cruise: Pristine, Fun & Away fr the Crowds?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Hanoi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Hanoi and add a light layer if any part of the 13-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does 1-Day Bai Tu Long Bay Cruise: Pristine, Fun & Away fr the Crowds start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Hanoi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Hanoi?

    +

On Outty we rank every Hanoi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Ninh Binh Day Trip from Hanoi with Tam Coc or Trang An & Mua Cave, Ha Giang Loop Tour 4 Days 3 Nights with Ha Giang Vision Tour, Halong Bay Day Tour With Titop Island, Cave, Kayak & Lunch. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Hanoi?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Hanoi?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
