    Balboa Park and La Jolla

For two large groups (15 and 35 people), we conducted two visits: Balboa Park and La Jolla. These places are absolutely beautiful and our guide shared with us many details, making the tours very interesting. I very much appreciated Laurie's availability before the tours, which made our organization very simple. Thank you very much, I recommend!

Response from the operator: Merci Pierre! Nous sommes vraiment ravies que vous ayez aimé notre belle ville! C’était un plaisir de communiquer avec vous et de vous accompagner à San Diego! À bientôt!

    update your systems

You cancelled the tour and keep sending this to me. Update your system or I am going to completly block you. I did not go. Walked around myself. Beautiful area.

Response from the operator: Hi, I apologize for the confusion, but I honestly don't know what you're referring to. I never approved a tour with you, and it seems there may be a glitch in my account

No with the money, see on your own!

Loved everything we saw, but we could have seen it all on our own. Didn’t get to go down the stairs to see the caves. Didn’t walk through the park. We went to get gelitto and then she wanted us to go see the lobby of a building back down the hill. We declined. The overall tour was only 45 minutes not an hour and a half. Not worth the money we paid, only thing we got was a $5.95 gelitto. Not worth the money!

Response from the operator: Hi Cindy, I sincerely apologize that you didn't enjoy the tour. We take pride in our high ratings, with over 100 five-star reviews on various platforms. Given your request for a full refund, I issued a significant partial refund as I genuinely want my clients to be happy. Thus, I was surprised to read your comments, especially as everyone seemed pleased and even left a generous tip after the tour. Regarding the tour duration, I’m not sure I understand your statement about the 45 minutes. Our records show the tour started at 10:30 am (actually, we began 10 minutes early as everyone had arrived) and we have the receipt for the gelato at 11:43 am. You chose to end the tour there, even though our guide was prepared to show you some beautiful, historic buildings and unique art galleries that contribute to La Jolla’s charm. It’s true that a walking tour in nature can be done independently. However, the value of a guided tour lies in the expert knowledge provided. Our guides share insights into the city's history, geology, flora and fauna, and offer local tips to help you experience San Diego like a resident. We take pride in being generous with this information. I also apologize for any confusion regarding the cave. It wasn’t clearly stated in the description, which is my oversight. The cave involves a $10 extra fee per person and often a 30-minute wait in the summer sun. To avoid this, we provide detailed information about the cave and invite you to visit it independently after the tour if you wish. Thank you for your feedback. We will use it to improve our services and ensure a better experience for all our clients in the future.

1.5 Hour Walking Tour from La Jolla in San Diego: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for La Jolla.

How much does 1.5 Hour Walking Tour from La Jolla in San Diego cost?

    +

Prices start at $59 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in La Jolla usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does 1.5 Hour Walking Tour from La Jolla in San Diego take?

    +

Plan for about 1.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in La Jolla is not rushed.

Is 1.5 Hour Walking Tour from La Jolla in San Diego worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 57 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.3/5 across 9 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in La Jolla, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule 1.5 Hour Walking Tour from La Jolla in San Diego?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is 1.5 Hour Walking Tour from La Jolla in San Diego suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book 1.5 Hour Walking Tour from La Jolla in San Diego?

    +

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in La Jolla can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in La Jolla and add a light layer if any part of the 1.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does 1.5 Hour Walking Tour from La Jolla in San Diego start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central La Jolla within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in La Jolla?

    +

La Jolla is San Diego's best water day: kayak tours into the sea caves, snorkelling with leopard sharks in the ecological reserve, coastal walks with sea lions and sunset sails. On Outty we rank every La Jolla experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Cali Dreaming Electric Bike Tour of La Jolla and Pacific Beach, Incredible Slot Canyons to the Pacific, SoCal Riviera Electric Bike Tour of La Jolla and Mount Soledad. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit La Jolla?

    +

June to September for warm water, year-round for kayaking. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in La Jolla?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
