Great experience! Both my husband and I were standing up and riding waves by the end of the lesson, our instructor was very knowledgeable and helped us to feel comfortable and confident on the boards! We also saw some sea turtles while paddling out which was cool. Fun and unique experience, would definitely do again!

Response from the operator: Mahalo for your wonderful review! We're so happy to hear that both you and your husband were up and riding waves by the end of your lesson. It's great to know your instructor helped you feel comfortable and confident in the water—that's exactly the experience we strive to provide. And seeing sea turtles while paddling out is always a special bonus! 🐢 We're glad you were able to enjoy both the surfing and the beauty of Hawaii's ocean. Thank you for choosing Gone Surfing, and we look forward to welcoming you back for another fun session the next time you're on the island. Aloha! 🤙

    Great time and worker

Super nice instructor and he was very informative. Loved the whole experience. Honestly wasn’t as hard as I thought, or maybe the instructor was just great:)

Response from the operator: Mahalo for the kind words! We're so glad you loved the experience. We'll be sure to pass your compliments on to your instructor. Whether surfing was easier than expected or the instructor was just that good, we're happy you had a great time! Hope to see you back in the water soon. 🤙

    They prioritize safety

The weather was completely against us. They tried multiple times to accommodate us. They went well out of their way to try to get us out there learning how to surf. But the fact that they were so communicative and put safety as a priority speaks volumes. We might not have had a lesson with them, but we will happily promote their company.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for taking the time to share this—we really appreciate it, and I’m sorry for the delay in our response. We’re grateful for your understanding during what turned out to be some pretty challenging weather conditions. Our team genuinely did want to get you in the water, and it means a lot to hear that our communication and focus on safety came through clearly. That’s always our top priority. Even though we didn’t get the chance to surf together this time, your willingness to support and promote us truly means a lot. We hope we’ll have the opportunity to welcome you back for a lesson under much better conditions next time. Aloha, The Crew

    Do it!

It was so fun. Mick, our instructor, was kind and encouraging. Our whole party was able to stand at least once with Mick’s guidance. 10/10 would recommend.

Response from the operator: Mahalo for the awesome review! 🌺 We’re so happy to hear you had a fun time out there and that everyone in your group was able to stand up — that’s a huge win! Mick will be thrilled to hear your kind words. Thank you for choosing to surf with us, and for the 10/10 recommendation! We hope to see you all back out on the waves again soon. 🤙 — The Gone Surfing Hawaii Team

1.5-Hour Semi Private Surfing Lesson in Honolulu: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Oahu.

How much does 1.5-Hour Semi Private Surfing Lesson in Honolulu cost?

    +

Prices start at $120 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Oahu usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does 1.5-Hour Semi Private Surfing Lesson in Honolulu take?

    +

Plan for about 1.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Oahu is not rushed.

Is 1.5-Hour Semi Private Surfing Lesson in Honolulu worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 71 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 79 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Oahu, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule 1.5-Hour Semi Private Surfing Lesson in Honolulu?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is 1.5-Hour Semi Private Surfing Lesson in Honolulu suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book 1.5-Hour Semi Private Surfing Lesson in Honolulu?

    +

Around 28 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Oahu can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Oahu and add a light layer if any part of the 1.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does 1.5-Hour Semi Private Surfing Lesson in Honolulu start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Oahu within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Oahu?

    +

On Outty we rank every Oahu experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Oahu: Full or Half Day Grand Circle Island Tour, Oahu Small-Group Circle Island Tour with Turtle Snorkeling, Pearl Harbor Remembered Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Oahu?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Oahu?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
